For my 2 grandmothers, who I lost in the last two years. Nannah and Memaw, I miss you both very much and wish you were here...
For my brother who died before I was born. I wish I could have known you. You died way too young. I hope to meet you in heaven.
For Laura Lee Crane, little Carlie and Rebeca Martinez, who were tragically taken from us or never had a chance.

Ladies....do you still talk to your ex's?
by logansrun inladies,.
how do you feel about speaking with ex-boyfriends?
can you still be "friends" with someone you broke up with?
-
TresHappy
Not really. This is my first marriage, so my ex's are ex boyfriends. I do get a Christmas card from my exboyfriend's parents every year. I did get in touch with them when a old friend of their son was recently murdered in a robbery. And my ex JW boyfriend found me via the Internet last year and e-mails me occasionally!

Did you ever save anyones life?
by dh inif so, was it a stranger or was it someone you knew, and how did the relationship develop afterward?
i did once, a friend who was drowning, after the incident the friendship totally deteriorated and now whenever i think about it, i wonder why i bothered, it's difficult watching someone drown, especially when they shout your name instead of help.
anyway, anyone got any experiences to share?.

No but someone saved my life. When I was 18 I was choking on a piece of hard French candy on the streets of Paris when I started to turn blue and fell to the ground attempting to breathe. A stranger came up from behind, grabbed my stomach and did the Heimlich on me. The piece of candy immediately came up and I looked around to see this angel. He stepped back and I couldn't get a good look at him. My friend and I were both crying from the ordeal and realized this man didn't stop. He went on. I never got to say thank you. What a way to get a crowd around you on the Rue de Rivoli!

What will you say to God in your defense?

what will you say to him in your defense to plead you cause?

I would say, I never stopped believing in you, even after the Watchtower portrayed you in such a horrid light. I wanted to stop believing, but somehow I couldn't. I wasn't dedicated to you, but a publishing corporation. Thank you God for getting me out of that cult!

If we don't wear bras in the new system, will we look like the National Geographic natives? Boobies hanging to our knees?

Has Anyone Ever Met Any Celebrities?
by imallgrowedup inthis is a spin-off of another thread where my *mild and chaste* friend, mouthy, admitted to wanting to meet her dream man, tom jones, and that she would even go so far as to throw her bloomers at him, if that is what it would take to get his attention!
well, the mental picture this painted was far too much for me to bear, so i encouraged her to save her red polka-dotted "unmentionables", not only because she might need them in the future, but because i didn't think she'd have to go that far to get his attention.
and i said that - because of a personal experience with him.

I previously mentioned in another thread my encounter with meeting Ellen Barkin at a deli in Manhattan last October. I have to say encounter with Ellen because I didn't speak to her, I just smiled and she smiled back. Does that count with meeting someone famous?

Convert the whole damn world...fortunately for the world, I never converted anyone.
Oops - I really did misread this title thread. When I learned they were false prophets, I was angry, frustrated, and every emotion you can think of.

How far back do you remember?
by dh inwhat are your first memories?
i started to write a post about this the other day but it turned into a bio, so i deleted it.. my first memory is my mom carrying me into a house and putting me on the floor with another boy, and talking to some guy behind me while i watched the other kid playing with a board game.
it turned out that the other kid was my older brother, the man was my real father who i never met, and because of the time frame of events i was well under a year old when this happened.. i also remember being rocked to sleep as a baby by my mom, and trying to tell her i wasn't tired but not being able to.. do you have early memories?

My mom says she can remember her 2nd birthday. Her parents took for a plane ride over the area where they lived. My grandmother never believed she could remember it, however Mom distinctly remembers being told to "look down and see your home." It's amazing all the little things that our amazing brain can remember!
