Duane Magnani - Anyone Here Know the Name?

the magnani family was from the keene, nh congregation, the one where my ex-wife grew up.

duane was at one time quite a well-known anti-jw.

i knew his father leo quite well.

I heard Duane Magnani speak in PA in 1997. I didn't meet him; however I remember he spoke on some subject about the Watchtower.

Character actor Bruno Kirby has died...

he was just 57. diagnosed with acute leukemia two weeks ago, he died today.

he was in two of my favorite movies: city slickers and when harry met sally..

My JW mom taped all the Columbo episodes and she gave them to me last year to watch. I remembered some of them, however my favorite one is the one that takes place at the military academy. I think they filmed it at the Citadel in South Carolina; it was a great mix of characters; I loved Columbo driving Patrick McGoohan's character crazy as he tried to solve the crime. Those Columbo episodes are fun to watch; dated but great television.

I left home and worked 2 jobs for jobs just to have my independence and no roommates.

Were you a bathroom breaker?

i swear my mother used to keep better track of my bladder than i did.

she'd sit me down occasionally for talks such as "i noticed you've been going to the bathroom a lot during the meetings lately maybe we need to cut down on what you drink on meeting nights" etc.

others would go 2 or 3 times a meeting and if i went twice a week i'd get a talk about it!

I remember doing the "Tract Tour" several times - from tracts on tranfusion to Trinity, we did our best to leave these things everywhere.

I remember even one lady I met with actually did become a Witness. Although I have no idea if she is still one or not. She may be even deceased. She was elderly when I "converted" her...
