You can take pee breaks and no one stares at you when you walk down the aisle to go to the bathroom. Most everyone wears nametags. Mouthy will greet everyone with a hug. Everyone introduces themselves the first session of the first day. The first time I went I hid in the bathroom I was too scared too talk. Most people remember me because I was the one who got up and told how I when I left the WT, I would take my garbage and throw it out in the KH parking lot!

Mouthy is right, the food wasn't good the last time I was there; and it's expensive. It's much cheaper to drive into Tamaqua and buy groceries. I went three times and have a pretty good idea what goes on there. There was not much whining; just a whole bunch of hearts full of heart who need to be in the same room with people who have been thru the same heap of crap that all of us went thru in the WT.

just wondering if anyone else has seen the similarities between the allegations swirling around u.s. congressman foley (rep. florida) and allegations made by victims of sexual assault for years in the jw congregations.
not as to the particulars regarding foley's somewhat hinky emails or the sexually explicit text-messages he exchanged with at least one of the house pages, but as to how certain people in power knew of the allegations of bad conduct but, instead of acting on behalf of the alleged victims, decided to "deep six" everything.. now tonight i have just seen on the t.v.

Murder with Amish children, great opportunity to convert Christians, right?
by free2beme inlast night, i had this misfortune of listening to people in other christian faiths use the amish event to promote recruitment of their own church in faith.
i saw ministers on television saying how these amish people showed the love of christ, and how these people showed how much people in christ church were so loving and forgiving.
making a point to mention that the amish people were forgiving the man who did this.

The Amish are a cloistered sort. We went to Lancaster County PA a while back and found the Amish to be very quiet people. They will talk to you if buy their goods; however we're English and part of the world. Those families will not have any pictures of their little girls as they don't have photos of themselves, (it's vain). The movie Witness does a pretty good job of showing what the Amish world is like.

I've been listening to Dr. Laura since Deryk was 7 or 8 years old (I think he's about 21 now) and in the beginning she had a very different view on homosexual relationships, etc. Some of her stuff is still in the same but in the beginning I loved her stance on many things. Then she did some flip flops on things and got really really obnoxious. Her show has changed several radio stations in this area and I don't know where she is now. I saw her on Larry King Live the other night and she's cut her hair short and looks a whole lot older. She badly needs a neck job...or needs to wear turtlenecks!

I'm so Naughty! I pretended to be a JW to get a sale.
by Pioneer Spit...oh, i mean Spirit ini had customers yesterday, a couple, who said they had to get to a meeting by 7:30 last night.
(red flag!
) i asked what was the nature of this meeting, and they said it was like church, and i asked what religion, and they were hohos.

It's a great story, but don't you think these things come back to haunt you? I remember a "brother" from years ago who used to only hire JW's in his business (plumber). He was extremely hard to work for and everyone in the various congregations knew it. Well a down-on-his-luck plumber applied for the job and pretended to be a JW - how? He was dating a JW in a distant congregation so he thought he could fake it. He was hired by Brother Nasty Plumber and everything went well for a few months. Then fake plumber JW started smoking one day after a job and a customer complained about the butts in the yard. Brother Nasty Plumber then learned and promptly fired fake JW. Of course he was able to get another job; but why go through all the trouble? With the grapevine being the largest plant at the KH, I wouldn't fake anything if I worked or had any dealings with these folks.
