i mean, they are forcing sites to close down, suing the people that run them etc.
i wonder if this is the way they want to "handle" the internet problem.

by reexaminer ingreetings.. i have started a project that i hope will stay online for times indefinate, even to times indefinate.
you can find it at www.reexamine.org .. i started working on it in october and it is still a work in progress, however because of the shut down of the website located at http://quotes.watchtower.ca i felt that i should release the site in "as-is" condition, instead of waiting until it was completely finished.. currently, there isn't a lot of content in the 'wiki' section of the website.
hopefully in the next few days and weeks that will change, however there are still programming issues that i have to work out before that can happen.

There seems to be a mirror site that has replaced Quotes. It comes up under - Watchtower Quotes Site Map. There are also many other sites. The WTS will never be able to stop the advancement of truth.

Why would a current JW choose to be rude and offensive?
by AlmostAtheist ini've recently had lengthy pm discussions with a person claiming to be a current jw.
this person has been above the standard level of arrogant for a jw, raising conceit to practically a defining characteristic.
you almost expect that when you're dealing with a member of the "elite".. but he goes beyond it.

People will often act like the person they most admire. If they admire the god of the Bible then they will show the same temper tantrums, intolerance and offensive behaviour that Jehovah demonstrates. Hence the behaviour of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
It does not surprise me that you are almost atheist, when God has been represented in such an appalling way. The true reality of the source of life is very different.

Perhaps you should talk to someone who can help you deal with the depression that willl follow or read up on the subject. Knowing how this loss will affect you and how to deal with your feelings will not take away the pain but it will help you to cope.

Over 160,000 Simply Left The "Truth" Last Year
by minimus inthat was the comment that a former elder made at the local meeting today in his comment.
evidently, he and his wife heard a bethel speaker's comment during his talk say that (i believe the figure was) 167,000 people did not get disfellowshipped but simply left.
the ex-elder made it a point to say that the elders should be watching to help out the flock before they up and leave.

he lied to his followers telling some of them they would still be alive when he returned.
in the book of revelation jesus said in the first and last chapters that he was coming quickly and for the reader 2000 years ago to use discernment because he was showing them what must shortly take place.

For most children Father Christmas is just a fantasy figure which they grow out of believing in. The reason the church has gone to so much trouble to include Father Christmas is less innocent. It is not accidental that Santa clause is presented as a Father.
Young minds come to believe that all good things come form this Father at Christmas if they are good. Of course they grow out of it. But their minds have been primed to believe in a mystical father figure. A Father who they have strong emotional reason to believe in because they associate the belief with pleasure. It is one small step to then replace this Father figure with another Father who will reward them.
The Father at the church will be pleased to confirm the existence of an invisible male deity whom they can call the Father. For those that believe it is good for young minds to be primed to believe in a male Father deity this is seen as a good thing. For those who believe that such beliefs will separate them from their true identity in later life, it is not such a bright idea.
Children should have fun and many will think that only spoil sports would examine the psychology of this myth so deeply. That is what the church wants you to think!
