  WHY did you exit god and the bible when you exited the dubs?

  not all that post here threw the bible and the bible god out the window when they exited the dubs, but many have.. for me personally, i never doubted god or the bibles authenticity untill years later when i began doing a re-search on the bible canon and how it was formed.

  from there, i began looking at the sceptics view of the bible and it's god which then changed my views.. i guess my question is, why did you ( those who disbelieved god/bible upon exiting the dubs)... throw god and the bible out the window before you had re-searched it enough to make you believe contrary?

  if all you really knew was that the wtbts was bunk, what made you feel the bible and it's god was bunk too?.

  This sums up my own experience. Many years of studying led me to conclude that all organized religion is ‘a snare and a racket’ as the Watchtower Society kindly pointed out. By then my eyes had been opened so I ate some more of the apple and discovered that politics was also ‘a snare and a racket.’ The financial system is also controlled and manipulated for the benefit of those in the know.

  This has not made me cynical just cautious and able to negotiate this treacherous world in full awareness of it’s pitfalls. The Jehovah’s Witnesses are just a small model of a larger model.

  The world outside the Watchtower Society, including all religion is just a bigger goldfish bowl. Many people spend their lives thinking they have escaped but later find they have just moved to different but larger bowl. True escape is found living outside of the bowls. Those in charge of religion have told us we will die on the outside.

  The Truth is we are not goldfish and we live better outside the bowls.

  Coming Oil Shocks - real or myth?

  i've been reading a very persuasive site regarding a potential coming oil shock: .

  i've also looked at some of the counter arguements such as the theory of abiotic oil (oil is not a fossil fuel it is generated deep in the earth by geological processes and is therefore not going to run out.

  Qcmbr - Thanks for that report. I found it most enlightening.

  I have recently been looking into the emergence of Gas to Liquid. This is a technology that turns trapped gas, which is normally burnt of to get to oil, into transportable gas. It can also be turned into sulfur free transport fuel. The cost of producing enough to replace oil runs into hundreds of billions for the initial set up. As your article points out, much of this work depends on oil.

  There are some awesome investment opportunities mixed up in this but not much good if banks collapse!

  poor jwfacts got sprung when the jw trawlers were able to join the dots.. no, that's wrong - they knew it was him but it took something else for them to be able to prove it.. i am not game to post a bio about myself.

  my jw siblings are very litigious.

  one even sued another jw for libel.

  In the UK blinkers are something you wear over your eyes to restrict what you can see - usually by horses. Most UK drives do act as though they are wearing blinkers, particularly the women. Ouch!

  I avoid allowing myself to hate. There are things that bring me pleasure and things that don’t. I try to focus on the things enjoy and dismiss the rest as simply inconvenient.

  Hate uses up energy and is a destructive energy. The more you hate the harder it is to find pleasure in things because hate robs us of our peace of mind. In the end we hate ourselves for being unhappy and wind up hating life.

  I have been told many times that I live in a world of my own. - can’t imagine why!

  if i was the god of the bible, i think my priorities would be to set the ground rules of life and manage the planet, ensuring life is good.

  i cannot envision any reason to desire worship.

  If standing in church worshiping God makes him happy, then as there are fewer church goers nowadays, he must be sad. Is God really so dependent on the habits of humans?

  God is in fact life. Does life want to be worshiped? Well life is not separate from us but expresses itself through us. As part of us it wants to be happy and enjoy all the wonderful things on earth that it has imbued with life.

  To use our lives well and appreciate what a fantastic thing it is to be consciously aware of being a part of the dance of life, is worship. Just choosing to carry on living despite its challenges and difficulties shows appreciation for the opportunity we have.

  Collectively we make the manifestation of life on this planet a positive or negative experience for life or God. God contains both negative and positive polarities from a human point of view. Viewed from a higher perspective it is all a positive expression. Life does not judge by the changing rules that mankind does. It accepts what is - just look at the natural world.

  i find this to be one of the most unattractive traits a person can have.

  i mean sure we all get excited when something good happens to us or someone we love and we want to share it with others.

  but i hate it when people try to glorify themselves.

  Once again we have a thread where people seek to place God in heaven or hell or beneath a church bell. Those that limit God in this way usually have a mental picture of a male deity with whom they have established a bond or relationship which must be nurtured and protected by agreeing to certain conditions and holding specific beliefs. They always expect to be rewarded with eternal life. Those that will not accept their beliefs are warned that they will perish.

  In other threads they argue about the name of this male deity and try to justify the Bibles allegations of his tantrums and rages. The question of whether Jesus is of God is redundant. All that is - is of God and is God and is sustained by God. That includes everything living and all that has lived.

  For God to punish people for eternity would be to punish himself. Why would God sustain life eternally with the purpose of deliberately causing eternal suffering. What crazy neurotic minds dreamed up this concept of a God?
