i had a cold chill and a shiver vibrate down my spine reading this article.. but, i just don't know why ?

there are certain words i have taken the liberty to highlight below, each of them caused a {{{{{{shiver}}}}}}.. somebody help me out...what is that gives me this 'deja vu' feeling ?.

As the years passed, I came to realize that there is nothing ugly about sex. The idea is put about by religon.

Now I have a pet saying, 'Religion rears it's ugly head.'

James has asked you some very meaningful questions in private. You could have responded in private or not responded. You have chosen to open a thread using these questions. James has accepted this and politely answered your post. I am impressed by the kindness he continues to show towards you.

Why accuse him of being deceitful? You seem to be trying to turn an exchange of viewpoints into a personal matter which attacks his integrity .

What James is guilty of, is daring to ask you to examine your dearly held beliefs. Your response is typical of all religionists who interpret such an approach as an attack on their faith. I think the majority of people on this forum, who regularly read the posts by James Thomas, will realise that you have misread his intentions and do yourself no credit.

You seem to have missed the point of the questions asked by James. They were designed to make you ponder and question whether your definition of God is supported by an examination of true reality. They were meant to help in leading you to awareness .

You seem to have used them as a platform for your personal beliefs views. I can understand why James tried to reach out to you in private. It would have been prudent to respond in kind.

(prweb) february 21, 2005 -- many people will remember a famous tv ad where a woman races to her washing machine, fabric softener in hand, only to arrive just as the wash ends.

this woman who "forgot to ad the fabric softener" was actually doing herself and her family a favor.. .

The reason we never use fabric softener is that it stops cloth absorbing moisture. Take a towel that has been rinsed in softener and one that has not. Put a drop of water on both.

The one with the softener will not absorb the water. No good on towels or any clothing that is worn to absorb moisture.

Unfortunately the fact that only the Watchtower and its adherents have the date 607, is further proof to them, that they have the truth, direct from the mouth piece of God.

It is proof that they alone have accurate knowledge. They expect the rest of ‘the world’ to be out of kilter as it has got everything else wrong in their eyes It is further proof that the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one and has been blinded.

Talk of another date for Jerusalem’s fall, is nothing less than a conspiracy by the devil to discredit Gods only organization on earth. The scholars that challenge their date are in league with the Devil. Loyal Jehovah’s Witnesses have been warned of such ploys that are snares, designed to weaken their faith.

‘Cling to God’s kingdom the hope of mankind, firm for his rule take your stand.’

People leave when they are no longer emotionally satisfied by the way of life demanded by the Watchtower. Until then they will rationalise away all evidence that does not come from their leaders. They believe they are being objective.

What is the best question to ask a j.w. during a Bible study?

last year, i dropped by my daughter and son -in-laws' house just when they were having a bible study, and i was invited to "sit in" on it, and be an observer.

i didn't ask any questions, because i was not prepared for this event, so i "behaved' and just listened.

if i would find myself in this predicament again in the future, i wonder what question i would bring up that they would have difficulty answering, to show how the watchtower lies to new converts and worldly people when teaching them?

Before I was baptised I had to answer questions such as:

“Why should you be willing to preach the good news to all kinds of people in your territory?

Why should you take most seriously your responsibility to share the good news with others?

Whose teaching and instruction is given at congregation meetings?

In addition to any material contributions to advance the good news, what should we offer that is even more important?

What pattern set in ancient Israel serves as a model for giving material support to the Kingdom work today?”

The questions selected above relate to what is expected of baptism candidates rather than those relating to the beliefs that must be accepted. In all there were 122 questions that had to be answered correctly. They are shown in full in the book “Organized to Accomplish Our Ministry.” Should any answers fail to meet with approval, the candidate had to agree to further study and apply at a later date when he or she could try again.

said at our assembly that our research of the bible teaches us that jehovah is a "what have you done for me lately" god.. really nice!.

the society continues to make jehovah impossible to please.

Hey! I bought several copies of Jehovah's book and helped to make it the best seller of all time.

Lets not get greedy or I will start downloading free copies and then he will have to write a sequel - or end that 6000 year holiday and do some real work again.

Let me take you through it.

Any attempt to ask questions will be met with response,'I ask the questions.' The purpose of a JW Bible study is not to ask questions but to answer them.

But fear not, each answer is written above the questions you will be asked. You Will be encouraged to prepare in advance of the study, so you can learn the answer. If you refuse to answer the prepared answer, you willl be told, 'We have ways of making you answer.'

'It is not really a study but a question and you answer indoctrination session. Do not mess with these people they have order from the top and will stop at nothing to win your mind. Hope this helps.

A wonderful person

i havn't posted for a little while having gone back into a lurking mode, for no other reason that i've not had any opinion or thought to post recently.. but i felt i wanted to do an update on a post i did about some valentine flowers i received.

i discovered who this lady was and despite still having a lack of self worth (like thinking why would this beautiful woman be interested in me) i plucked up the courage to speak to her and we hit it off from the get go.

she is such a gentle, warm and kind person - in fact it brings a tear to my eye just thinking about her lovely qualities.
