Rather than ask - is there a god? I ask, is there god? Is the universe aware of itself? If so, what would we call that quality of awareness that is part of the universe itself? God will do as a word but it is a word that has been abused.

If this awareness exists, it may have come out of the universe and its development rather that being an awareness that has created out of nothing and imposed itself.

*sigh* i have been noticing lately there are a number of groups of "christians" signing up as members of this forum, with the obvious agenda of gaining converts for their own cult-like religions.

The Christian proper gander is equally matched by atheistic rhetoric. The two warring factions balance each other out.

Personally, I find it entertaining to read about both sides of the great divide. The battles are great fun, though my desire to comment has diminished.

So if God didn't mean a literal day when he said "Day," doesn't that mean the NWT isn't the most accurate translation?

if the hebrew word rendered "day" has multiple meanings, why was the most accurate translation of the word not used?

why doesn't it say "eons" in the nwt?

if god really meant to say "eons," why didn't he make sure it said "eons" instead of days.

A day to us earthlings, is the time it takes for the earth to revolve once. Until god made the earth there was no such thing as a day. So whoever wrote Genesis had his head a long way up...................in the clouds.

The truth is, reality is not so bad but we have to be prepared accept that no one can die for us, we have to die ourselves. Such truth is unacceptable to the majority of people.

I'm going to try some hypnotherapy to destroy the JW mindset

i got to try something, i know all you great people have commented previously that you've got to do your time working through it, but i need to try for myself a quick answer, i think that because i got into the jw mindset so easily through my parents, that through a hypnotic state i may be able to destroy the damage due to the gb, and begin my life a new, i will give you updates as to the results, peace to you all!.

Star Tiger - Hypnosis is not magic. Hypnotherapy is not the same as stage hypnosis. A competent hypnotherapist will ask what damage you consider the GB has done to you?

What you want your new life to include?

What you are willing to do to achieve those goals?

He or she will listen and help you to be aware of your emotions and what has caused them. Then help you to accept and move on. It takes time and can be both revealing and disturbing. We change when the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of changing.
