Those who suffered as a result of the build up to 1975 will tell you it was no joke. I too left school to pioneer at 15 and at 17 found myself in a bed-sit waiting for the end to come. It took some years to extract myself from under the spell of these false prophets the WT.

If a company had made such promise to it employees in return for free labour they would sue. Come to think of it why don't the Bethel Boppers sue.

i am sick of living a lie, yet afraid to change it.

married to a man who refuses to listen, who would rather plug his ears and shout "nooooooo" is taking it's tole.

i am afraid to speak my mind about my doubt, my thoughts, and what i'm learning, as i'm not ready to cross that point of no return.

Hi Moody Blue,

I am pleased that so many people have responded to you with good advice. All I can add is to remember that change takes time. The mind can see things and change very quickly but our emotions take a lot longer to catch up. This is a big emotional change for you.

Do little with the Witnesses and say even less. Build up your closeness with good non- Witness friends who will always stand by you.
Remember your own self worth - being a Witness lowers your own self esteem and that damage has to be repaired.

What should the WTBS do?!?!

well guys sorry i haven't participated much lately, i've been really busy.

but, i do have a question that i would really appreciate all of your input on.. it is no secret that young people are leaving jws faster and faster.

it is no secret that most jws are disappointed, and hurt by lack of prophecy fulfillment.. so here's what i was thinking: i'm going to post some very personal thoughts on what *i* think they need to do in order to stop the loss of almost 50,000 disfellowshipped and probably 4x that to inactivity.

I love the suggestions above. You Know, about 30 years ago, John Lennon said that Rock & Roll would be bigger than Christianity. His idea of the future turned out to be a lot more accurate than 'God's prophet' the WT Society.

The 10 remaining members of the governing body should form a rock group. How about - 'Bethel Boppers.'

In answer to your question, you have to move on. If these family member, includuing parents, are prepared to cut you off then they have provred that they are not worth - the candle. Focus on making friends with good people with whom you can form real friendships. Learn to enjoy the serenity of your own company and not to be afraid of being alone. We are only visitors to this planet and we will all be leaving so soon.

Time is to precious to waste your emotional on brainwashed, bigoted people. It is a wonderful world (in places) Seek out the best and use your experience to help you be free for the rest of your life. The only thing that can hold you back is your own fear. Face it, defy it and be free.

The Watchtower Society should do the same as any other disgraced political party that has failed to keep it's manifesto.

The members of the governing body should resign and allow a different set of leaders to apologize on their behalf and make some drastic changes in their set up.

The other suggestion is simple. The clue is - 'they shoot horses don't they
