PSacramento You have certainly lived a full life.
I knew you were a martial arts expert. If we actually met, I think I would be more careful what I said :)

things which exist are real enough.
we can measure them.
they are just this big and no bigger or smaller.. they are here and not there.. imaginary things have the luxury of being any size.
demons do not like smoke.
This must be why cats don't like smoke - they are all demonised.
A demon is bigger than a man but smaller than the Devil.
Don't let one get inside your head - there just isn't enough room for a demon and a brain!
the standard of what is true is what is real.. truth=reality.
at the point of contradiction.. with what?
it would be unthinkable for reality to contradict itself.. .
Do you k now why we fly? because someone thought that, against reality, we could.
My take on this is that, man has observed birds flying for many thousands of years. The reality has always been that with wings and a sufficient density of air, a creature can fly.
The rules governing flight meant that flight was not possible for man unless he equipped himself properly and aligned himself with the principles of aviation. With trial and error, much of which involved observing birds in flight, the Wright brothers finally met the requirements for flight.
Those requirements have always existed and have not have not changed since man mastered them. Our perception of what was possible for man has changed but reality has stayed constant.
Our perception is subjective and often erroneous. Should the earth loose its atmosphere then aviation would no longer be possible nor would breathing. That reality would affect everyone and be an objective change.
Tammy and PSacramento, I appreciate you both taking the time to reply. I read your answers with interest and do my best to see things from your perspective. I do see how your reasoning works and admire your sincerity and honesty.
Personally, I find that some eastern approaches spiritual matters make more sense to me. I have not entirely dismissed the possibility that other dimensions exist, that we have yet to fully understand. But then, excluding the Bible, I would have to ask myself what basis there is for me to accept that there is a being called Jesus, to whom we are indebted.

Reality is absolute. What we call our subjective reality is really only our take on things, it is not actually reality. It is based upon the often faulty view of life that is uniquely and peculiarly ours. Reality can change but only within the laws that govern it.
If a man believes he can fly and jumps of a tall building, he is alive as he plummets towards the ground. Seconds later he is dead and the reality of him being alive has changed. This is because the ground is real as is gravity. His subjective view of reality has met reality which always has the last word.
That’s how I see things but if I am wrong I will bump in to reality - otherwise known as Terry. :)
Tammy and AGuest – thanks for your honest responses.
You both agree that ‘‘The Bible ISN'T holy - it's a BOOK... ’’
Most Christians would disagree with you but it is something that I can agree with. This does present a difficulty to even the most casual of observers.
You both often quote from biblical characters such as Moses, Paul, John and Jesus. As nothing that is said about them can be taken as Gospel their recorded words can not be relied upon. We could question whether they ever existed.
Imagine that Bible is entirely taken out of the equation and all comments regarding God, Jesus and apostles, faithful men of old and instructions on how to live are not allowed to be quoted from the Bible.
All that can be known about Christianity must be spoken directly by living people who have personally heard from Jesus, God or Jaheshua. Only living people speaking in spirit are allowed to pass on what they have received directly in spirit.
What would be known about the life and death of Jesus? How could anyone be sure that what they claim to have heard is from God? I wonder how many Christians there would be and whether they could agree on what God’s message is?
Thanks for your reply to my question Tammy.
I can give you all sorts of possible things that I THINK, but they would hold no more authority than anyone else's thoughts.
As you believe you have a direct line of communication with Jesus you speak with an authority that most people do not have.
God would be pretty busy if he had to counter every single thing people said was false.
Many people think that God should be busy caring for his people. After all he finds time to talk to you. But it seems logical to me that making the effort to make it clear to his people that the ‘Holy Bible’ is not his work but the work of men seeking him, would be a small gesture towards people who desire to worship him.
Yet people ignore what Christ said
I assume you are referring to what is written about him by other people in the errant Bible. Had Jesus spoken personally to all those that sought him, they may well have paid attention. If the Holy Bible is no longer needed to be a Christian, Jesus should have taken the trouble to point this out to the millions of sincere people who have sought to follow him.
I have no wish to nit-pick and say very little nowadays. But for people on this forum to repeatedly say that Jesus talks to them personally, is an extraordinary claim. Extraordinary claims demand extraordinary evidence and consistency. I take the time to comment because I have seen you become increasingly drawn into the format that others on this forum have so vocally demonstrated. I appreciate that like Psamento you are sincere in your beliefs.
Take care
Trevor
Thanks for trying to answer my questions honestly as you always do PSacramento. Unfortunately the main question still remains unanswered.
Why were these sincere people not given the benefit of direct conversation with Jesus, that some on this board claim to have, and informed that the Bible is not Holy?
Perhaps those that claim to hear from god can ask and reply. Millions of people are waiting for the answer. Meanwhile they look to the Holy Bible for answers.
It seems that the fact that the Bible is known as Holy Bible has been over-looked. Christianity has been a Bible based religion for many hundreds of years, accepting the Holy Bible as God’s written authority. This is why it is still used to swear people into court. Its contradictory manner and content has put many people off adopting Christianity.
If we start picking the pieces that suit our particular persuasion and dismissing the inconvenient bits, it ceases to be Holy. It becomes just a biblia or collection of books. Bible also means authoritative book which other religions also have. If The Holy Bible is just a collection of men’s opinions and not the Holy writings of a god, we have to ask if it even qualifies to be called an authoritative book?
Personaly, I have no problem with accepting the Bible as just a collection of man made attempts to understand the Christian god. But then I do not claim to belong to a Bible based religion that is now working its way back to its roots and trying to manage without a Holy Bible.
If the way forward for Christianity is for each member to follow their own internalised thoughts or audible voice without recourse to the Holy Bible, there are questions that must be asked:
Why has the Christian god or Jesus allowed so many people to put faith in the teachings of the Holy Bible and often die terrible deaths for their faith?
Why were these sincere people not given the benefit of direct conversation with Jesus, that some on this board claim to have, and informed that the Bible is not Holy?
There is no need to apologise to me or as far as I can see anyone.
I have enjoyed reading your posts and I hope you keep contributing.
