Big WORDS that don't mean much at all

weak people need big things in their life.. but, being weak....they can't do the heavy lifting.. .

instead, weak people puff up.

When all is said, written, or done, there are only two things in life; reasons and results.

The reasons don't matter.

Take an action, get a result.

Want a different result? Take a different action.

Want a better result, take a better action.

Words are just words until they are manifest through action. They are impotent ideas conveyed from one limited mind to another, abstract, the feather-light thoughts awaiting the wings of cause and effect . . . for every action is a cause set in motion.

To love . . . just a big word that is meaningless until love itself has been manifest through action. Love is a feeling? LOL, I am sorry but your feeling is only inside of you, and though it keeps you warm and deluded, your word, love, is cold and only exists as an idea inside your pretentious brain waiting to be actuated by your own effort and sacrifice. Until you express your professed love through action, you are a feckless vomiter of action verbs. To walk, to speak, to run, to play, to listen, to live . . . all just words, but action verbs that do not exist until one actually walks, speaks, runs, plays, listens, and lives.

It is an act of love, so say JW's, when they treat you as dead, do not speak to you, shun you, avoid you, presume micromanage your spirituality, but we all know from experience that their actions manifest hatred for you because of dissimilarity of thought, and not any kind of love as defined in the Bible at 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, and if you will notice, even the writer of that Scripture couldn't define love as anything more or less than something that can only be defined in terms of action and behavior, not a feeling.

We all say to other human beings in one way or another, "If you LOVE me you WILL . . . (action or behavior)", or "if you LOVE me you WON'T . . . (action or behavior). The WTBTS and JW's behave very badly, IMHO, when it comes to loving.

I didn't say they annoy me, but they can be annoying, AND draining, etc., but that is not the point of this post. There are friends of Bill W on this site who are former JW's, and I crying out for help in understanding the whole HIGHER POWER thing. Let's stay on track, please? Thanks.

ha ha I AM sober. I am not in recovery for anything other than having been born and raised into a religious cult, so let me be perfectly clear: I do not suffer from drug or alcohol addiction.

I keep crossing paths with people who are in recovery, that is, recovering from drug and alcohol addiction. These folks regularly attend Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings and are all somewhere in the process of working the 12 steps of recovery.

The organization denies affiliation with any legal entity; A blatant deception, a lie they tell new ones and each other at each and every meeting. Although there is no official contract between the court system and the friends of Bill W, it is the LAW and court system that can take credit for the vast majority of those attending these meetings by enforcing standard mandates and court orders. The two organizations, no matter what is stated at the AA and NA meetings, work hand-in-hand.

And what of this concept of a HIGHER POWER? They also insist they are not affiliated with any religious organization or denomination, but at every meeting, they form a circle and hold hands praying for this or that . . . and of course they are not affiliated with any religious organization for clearly, THEY ARE a religious organization. First, they hammer it into the heads of those attending these meetings that they alone are powerless to effect change in their lives to overcome their addiction, and they must turn to a "higher power" in order to do it. An individual's personal religious beliefs are both summarily validated and invalidated with the philosophy that "your higher power can be anything you want it to be". The scented oil burner on my bedside table, for example, can be my higher power if choose. I am powerless against drug addiction, if I were an addict, and it is this scented oil burner that I should give it over to, pray to, rely upon for strength, and will, and determination to overcome an enslavement to substance abuse I am simply powerless against.

his voice is liquid, drowning me then rescuing me from the sheer weight of a burdensome life that can no longer be borne.. somehow, a singularly caressing envelope of grace shields me from total obliteration, his ethereal utterance an unknown but strangely welcome entity.. what power lures me outside myself into a realm within my reality but, nonetheless, beyond it?

it is sonority that at once crushes me yet, alternately, cradles me tenderly inside delicate tracery of angel song.. i beg - oh, how i beg - to be released from this aural tidal wave of unquantifiable beauty.. his music is that of other worlds; it holds me in its protective but unrelinquishing embrace.

i equivocate, but it is demurral of little account for i cave and become captive .

1972- Charlie Pride, Sonny James and Ronnie McDowell. It was a Charlie Pride concert at the SD Sports Arena with Sonny James opening. Ronnie McDowell was a young man in the NAVY who sat next to me during the concert. He would later go on to become a Country arist and THE voice of Elvis Presley in just about every biographical movie or TV show about Elvis (Elvis The Move starrring Kurt Russel for example).

1974- One of the cast of the original Little Rascals, some blond woman named Jackie something.

1983- Michael, Latoya, and Janet Jackson at the 1983 District Convention of Jehover's Witnesses at Dodger's Stadium.

1991- Lorenzo Lamas

1992- Bill Clinton (I think he was like the president of something for a few years).

The rule is this: A statement taken out of context is a pretext.

While working with an elder in the door-to-door publication peddling activity, he explained that while there may not be an increase in frequency of earthquakes, the Scripture is actually accurate WHEN we consider how much more devasting todays's earthquakes are since the world is now so densely populated with more buildings and people dwelling stacked ontop of each other, side by side. The result is an all-time high record number of fatalities and injury per quake. But was the scripture pointing to actual Seismological activity or was it using a metaphor to describe the manner and/or power of the nations rising up against each other?

What I am reading is basically: "Nation will rise up against nation and kingdom against kingdom and together with (te) great earthquakes . . . ", but nothing in the passage suggests and increase in frequency or magnitude, and could also be intepreted, I suppose, that the actaul rising up of nation against nation would be in a manner that would cause the world to be shaken or devastated as if by great earthquakes . . . a metaphor, not an actual Seismological prediction. And if the WTBTS, or any other presumed authority, has interpreted the passage to imply increased frequency or magnitude, I would qustion their basis for doing so.

the whole reason i even got dragged into this jw stuff, and we didn't just become somebody's return visit they never came back on, is because my mom claimed that the demons were talking to her.

they told her that the jws knew the truth about them, so she called the local kingdom hall.

bible study was started, and that was that.

That logitech HD webcam I viewed on Amazon keeps popping up and winking at me! I just watched a youtube vid of rare Elvis concert footage and suddenly I see an ad for "Graceland Girlfriend Getaway" off to the side of this page AS I AM TYPING THIS!!!! lol wtf, Simon? Are you really tracking everyone's internet browsing?!?!?! that's a little creepy. Explain yourself, man! lol
