I am just thinking. The gb must know ( don't they) that overlapping generation idea doesn't agree with many r&f. They must feel that 1914 can be another failure as 1975 etc. You can't drag the last days indefinitely. And they want to secure future existence of their business to help it survive coming collapse.

Why does the org sell so many properties? I just was wondering... May be they are thinking of ditching 1914 doctrine and other teachings. It will be not a new light but completely different religion. It will be sharp decline in followers because of it. And now my theory. They pile up the cash to survive years of decline. It is not about payments for molesters victims but they are preparing for drastic change of teachings and drop in members. What do you think?

Has there ever been a time when someone has been outed as a JW mole on this forum?
by Tenacious inhaving been a jw for decades i'm used to watching what i do, say, or watch, in fear of being snitched on.. therefore, i the question begs.. there have been instances, i won't say how, where i've felt some members are being deliberate in their attempt to feign support for the anti-jw rhetoric on this forum.. any input is greatly appreciated..

Elders daughter living with her JW gay partner for over a decade and because her dad was good pal of congs coordinator no actions whatsoever :) an elder who objected the plot was removed and his name and his family taken through mud. It made me to step down from the privilege and opened my eyes. Besides CO was not even bothered to get involved. People who were in power in that cong had money ;) so.. Well..

What's The First "Worldly" Thing You Did When You Exited The Cult?
by pale.emperor inwhen you finally and officially exited the cult, whether it be by disfellowshipping, disassociating or fading - what was the first things you did that are considered "worldly"?.
for me, it was like crash landing on another planet that looked like earth but was completely different to the earth i knew.
i wanted to learn everything that i thought i already knew.. first things i did:.

I am still in because of family. I have read CoC, Hawkins and Dowkins, and many blasphemous Watchtower books from beginning of XX century. I turned down an offer to be appointed elder although I do things for people in my cong.

Convention
by Gorbatchov ingorby is as you know a long time fader.. visited the convention this weekend.. and concluded that samuel herds talk about hope was not so bad at all, it was well balanced.
made some good points.. knowing both sides of the medallion, have to admit he was humble with a focus on hope.. the saturday drama impressed me.
of course, there is a lot to say about the organization, this professional produced movie in a "true story" scenario, gave me the insight that hope is important for suffering people.

Subtle Differences in congregations
by SouthCentral ini grew up in a very zealous congregation.
we had almost 40 pioneers with only 100 publishers.
the congregation was 100% black americans (i don't say african-american).

UK 2015; all white English, app 100 pub, 25000 town, an emigrant from Poland refused to be appointed as en elder for half a year, even though he had recommendation from previous Cong in UK, Cob told him that his Polish-ness is a problem. And very soon they had him resign/ taken off.

Introduction - Any Believers?
by Believer iniāve been reading it for a few of years off and on, but have been a little too ... maybe ... timid to join.
i left the watchtower organization almost 20 years ago but never abandoned my faith and belief in god.
i knew the gb/organization didnāt represent god, so when i lost my faith in them, i managed to keep my faith in an all wise benevolent creator.

I believe too.
To accept evolution or divine origin is matter of faith in both cases. There is no 100% proof to believe or nor. At least, it is my point of view.
But I guess I don't love God. I do respect him or fear (if you like). But I can't say I understand him enough to love.
