My advice is to not bother. Why would she need to answer the questions? Tell her to just sit quietly like the majority of people at the KH and wait for it to be over. If she's a JW or has ever been a JW, she'll have no issues knowing or finding the answers.

JW's Would Stay With The Org Even If 1914 Was Dropped
by pale.emperor ini asked the question on quora: .
if the governing body abandoned the 1914 teaching, would you leave jehovah's witnesses or you would remain a member regardless?.

I think JWs as a whole care less as time goes by about their doctrine's history or source material. Most probably couldn't defend half of what JW lore is on their own. It was their grandparents (or parents) who actually cared about that stuff - they just grew up inside it. It's like hearing about a parent's obsession with trains growing up. You could probably quote some train facts, but don't really care to dig into it yourself. Why do you think the GB now puts so much emphasis on "obey even if it makes no sense" rather than "we'll prove we're right"? It's like a train club association desperately trying to keep their membership once the parents are gone - group loyalty becomes about the social/belonging aspect rather than the train facts/history. -

Venting, Wow, found out just how indoctrinated my wife is
by goingthruthemotions injust had to share this, tonight we had a heated conversation about the religion.
she said everything they teach is 100% true and any mistakes are cleaned up and corrected, that the payouts for the child abuse is not an issue even if its taken from donations.
because, she believe 100% the org knows what its doing.

The lady doth protest too much, methinks. You only try that hard (and talk that big) if you're trying to compensate for something. Or she's a nut job. Obviously the first option is preferable. -

Pregroup = one family that speaks a different language (usually still studying). At least, that's what I've seen. It gets the local JWs all a-fluff about a new congregation!

Uh... wha??? This could go badly. Fully hearing publishers have enough problems getting the volume level and other details right.

Any word yet on the Annual Meeting?
by careful init's just a week or two away and still no sign of the usual hype?
very strange.... anyone heard anything about it?
perhaps from those still in to some degree or from relatives/friends still in?.

Vidiot: I'd be kinda surprised if they even knew they'd been laughed at.
Same. I can't imagine a JW with access to the GB mentioning anything. It's doubtful that they're Internet savvy enough to see it for themselves.
*I know it's a stereotype that old people are technologically inept, but these guys equated the internet with evil until very recently.

Thought Provoking Question to a JW?

and if he didn't what are the implications?
nwt answers don't count but feel free to use the kingdom interlinear.

I don't see it as a faith-shattering question/argument. It's subtle enough to get past the instant "apostasy" alert, but I think only the most academic JWs will care about the answer.

My Mom's Challenge to Me
by lriddle80 inso my jw mom messages me on facebook last night and says she wants me, for a month, to read the bible, but first pray using the name jehovah and in jesus name and then read it with an open mind.
she is so ridiculous!
first of all, i do pray but i usually just say father and i always pray in jesus name and i find it ironic that she is saying i should have an open mind when hers is closed.

How would she know whether you actually did it or not? Just food for thought.

Listener: "They've either got nothing to say or it's too expensive to televise, my money is on the cost cutting."
I doubt cost cutting would be the issue. Even if it's a live internet broadcast/stream... the tech is already in place from previous broadcasts. There's no need to buy broadcast air-time (internet is far cheaper/easier). There's really no cost at all unless they need to rent a bigger auditorium. Modern camera equipment doesn't use up resources like traditional film would (film, developing agents, etc...) . It's all just digital storage that can be wiped and reused as needed. I'm assuming that volunteers run the cameras and lighting.
I haven't heard squat about the annual meeting in JW land. It's either completely uneventful or $hit will hit the fan.
