Hey, BigFloppy. Great minds think alike.

after seven years we finally got a call from an elder this morning.
he wants to come over and talk to steve (he wouldn't talk to me or give me any message).
this particular elder was from steve's old congregation in austin, texas.

this was inspired by the story freedom96 posted earlier.
i was in foster care and was placed there right before halloween.
i celebrated my first halloween, and thanksgiving.
Yep, adopted my first Angel this year. His name is Carlos and he is age 2. He wanted an educational toy (which Mommy suggested I'm sure ).
Well, I got him that plus a hooded red sweatshirt and jogging pants...tee hee...they were so-o-o-o small. And a nice soft fluffy Golden Retriever stuffed dog. Every boy should have a dog.
A girl at work always coordinates an Angel Tree project for children every year. There were 8 bicycles, I believe, given this year. And they, plus all the other presents, were all being stored in her office.
This was my first year of participation and I loved every minute of it. Never having had kids or any kind of a family (let alone little family members), I am somewhat bewildered in shopping for a kiddie. But I'm learning.

i have already gotten an email from someone stating that their gift arrived safely in the mail.
i thought it would be nice to start a thread where we can post what we got (for those nosey like me who want to know!
) and a thank you.. as for me, i haven't even begun yet!
IT'S HERE...IT'S HERE. My Secret Santa came through. Thank you Thank you Thank you, Wes.
I got two great CD's "Musical Healing...Renew Your Spirit" and "Healing Waters...Soundings of the Planet" by Dean Evenson. They're in the CD player and they sure are nice. I'm checking out their websites for more. It's very strange that this past year since being out of the JW's I have been gravitating towards the New Age music because it is so soothing. It helps me deal with the anger a bit. So thank you, again, Wes. You were reading my mind! ((((()))))

ok so i'm on the phone talking to my friend, when i hear a knock so light i wasn't even sure if it was a knock.... (the doorbell, lighted, works just fine).. i open the door.
two attractive young ladies in their early 20s are standing there, don't even make eye contact.
one reaches into her bookbag and pulls out the lasts watchtower and asnake magazines and proceeds to ramble incoherently for the next 30 seconds.
Very Good, girl.
Very true about planting seeds that may grow later. Years ago, I had a householder (Bible teacher) tell me that she respected what the JW's were doing in witnessing door to door but she had studied the NWT Bible and came to the conclusion that it was a very spurious rendition. I went home and looked that up: Websters - "Spurious: false, counterfeit, fraudulent". I said to myself "Oh, really?" but I NEVER forgot the incident. Now I completely agree.
Later, I had a male householder run out the door after me shouting "Go away. You ruined my daughter's life". I don't know if his daughter was in the Borg our out of the Borg but I NEVER forgot that incident either.
Chip, chip, chip, chip, chip...... It works!

i don't intend to offend anybody with this post, so please excuse me if i do.
i have often wondered why some people that leave the wt organisation go really weird.
there is a couple near me who left a couple of years ago.
For me....
Everyone's reactions upon leaving are somewhat different. Praise God they have the freedom to love Him now from the heart instead of being brow beaten into submission. Be happy for them.

Hey, Lady....I'm twiddling thumbs, too. Our Secret Santas are probably busier than one-armed paper hangers so just hang in there.
Trot (of the still waiting class)
my dad passed away at the hospital today after a lengthy illness.
he was 84 years old.
some of the folks here have known for awhile that he had been ill, and they have been very supportive.
(((((Jack))))):
So sorry for your loss. Your father sounded like a very nice man.
