i live in broward county, florida...unfortunate harborer of mohammed atta and other terrorists.. next door is (drum roll please)...palm beach county...home of the "we don't know how to vote" crowd.. also next door to (drum roll please)....miami/dade county....the "hanging chad" county.
and i work next door to the country's largest petroleum tank farm (port everglades...which also houses florida power and light company.).
and now, lo and behold, we are in the news again.
Francois ("Frenchy"): Sure you want to do that? I was the one giving you a hard time over there at the "Left Behind" chat board. I'm game. I'll send you my E-mail address. By the way, they've got quite a lively discussion going on over there about JW's.

Sentinel: Do they know where Tallefast is located? Is it a nice area. The Christian painter "Danny Hahlbohm" lives there. Yes. I think it is a nice place to visit, too, and I'd rather not live here (unless it's a condo ON the ocean from November to April only). Snowbirds know what they are doing. I was just so darned depressed about all the stuff that is landing in our laps down here.
Salud: I take it you're from Tampa? Nice lightning over Tampa Bay...yes?

DoubleEdge: Too many elderly mixing it up with too many people in a very bad mood, in very hot weather, with too much traffic, and living too fast a pace. If I were elderly, I would be out of here. I wish I could move my mother to a nice, quiet Ohio community but alas...I'm tied down on a job.

PS how come I've never met you yet Trot??? what's up with that????!!!???
Because I'm fat, ugly, and antisocial Will E-mail you.
hey what you doing today???
On vacation today. Sitting here at 2:30, still in my bathrobe (I have bathed ), on this computer, eating popcorn for lunch, drinking orange juice, and trying to get the filing done in my home office since I'm a year behind. Well, you asked.
OutoftheOrg: You're sweet.
Kelsey007: Tee-Hee. You're bad.
Bad Terry: This is true. Winters are mighty nice (after the long, long, hot, h-o-o-o-o-t summer). We have no Spring or Fall to speak of. The heat doesn't break for about 8 months. So we deserve our Winters. I think I need to be a snowbird. When my ship comes in, I can afford two houses.

Ballistic: Better known for cider than harboring terrorists!
Latest from the News:
Yureka! I thought of one positive thing. Drum roll, please.............
We have one of the best seashell beaches in the world....Sanibel/Captiva.

And now, lo and behold, we are in the news again. Two Middle Eastern folks decide to cause a ruckus by threatening to blow up Miami and stupidly run Alligator Alley toll booths, heading East towards Ft. Lauderdale, setting off alarms all over the place. Bomb sniffing dogs blew the whistle and now the entire road has been shut down since 1:00 a.m. For those who don't know the lay of the land down here....that's an entire friggin' road that runs from Fla. coast to Fla. coast. Not that I'm complaining. Better they shut down the road, fry those idiots, and stop their idiot plan in its tracks (I hope). As it stands right now, they may get them for nothing more than running a toll booth because they can't find anything and they aren't talkin'.
We also are the lightning capitol of the country (Tampa, I believe).
We also are the No. 1 state for running down pedestrians.
We have one of the highest auto rates in the country (we can't drive either).
We have one of the highest home insurance rates in the country (Thank you, Hurricane Andrew)
We have some of the highest banking fees in the country (and climbing)
And our real estate rivals California.
So Trot is pretty darn irritated and looking for something postive to say about my state other than sun, sand, and surf. Um-m-m-m-m. Still waiting and nothing coming. Got any ideas?

until recently i was a devout member of the jehovah's witnesses.
i found this to be wholly unreasonable.
how can they say they are protecting the families, when it is usually the paedophiles own children that are being abused!
.
sorry if this has been done to death, i only did a quick scan and didn't see a topic like this, so i appologize in advance if this was started someplace else.. this morning i woke up and thought about where i was last year, and the complete shock i felt at this same time last year...and i was just wondering if any of you had those same feelings this morning.. so where were you?
i always find stories of what people were doing at the time they heard to be really interesting-please share if you'd like.
I was at work meeting with our Legal Department. The attorney's wife called and told him a plane had hit the WT Center. I immediately said out loud "From which country?". Instinct told me right from the beginning it was no accident. We ran to the TV in the Copier Room. As I watched the first Tower crumble, I said "Oh, No-o-o-o. It can't be doing this. There are too many people in there." I was horrified. By the time the third plane hit the Pentagon, I was in tears and said "It's been a long time since Pearl Harbor". I was so stunned and then so @#$% MAD. Still am. But I believe in God, the ultimate Judge.
