Conveniently unused scripture
by Pleasuredome innow that ive stopped going to meetings, ive had to become the faithful and discreet slave for myself, so to speak, and read the bible often and meditate on what it says.
just last night, i read this scripture that dumbfounded me: -.

bchamber: Very interesting and informative. Can you comment on the following because this scripture bugs me:
I looked up Luke 23:43 in the WTS Greek Interlinear (it's the only one I have). The NWT places the comma after today. Their footnote reads: ""Today." Wescott and Hort text puts a comma in Greek text before the word for "today." In the original Greek no comma is found. Hence we omit comma before "today."
Then they then turn around and put the comma after "today" instead in the NWT. WHY? Could it be as Shera stated:
You can see clearly that the comma was placed in this place to take away from the heavenly hope to anyone who believes in Jesus. No other translation has a comma in this spot. Why? Because this is how the WTS wants the JW's to believe.
Why did Westcott & Hort choose to put the comma in front? OR is this just one of those things that is left up to interpretation? Evidently, the NWT wants to interpret it to take away the heavenly hope from all who believe in Jesus except for (after twisting up Revelations scriptures) their precious 144,000 anointed...all JW's, of course? Sick.
Really would like your comment bchamber. I have to run out to shop a bit but I'll be back later.

Born in Youngstown. Grew up in East Palestine, Cuyahoga Falls, Akron areas. High School in Troy. Left Ohio in 1976 for Florida, Texas, then Florida again. In Ft. Lauderdale right now. I wish I could be a snow bird. I love Florida winters, hate Florida summers. Love Spring, Summer, and Fall in Ohio; hate Ohio winters. I do miss my Ohio, though.

Help! Neighbor starting a study
by Trotafox ini am so furious.
the very zealous elderly pioneer sister who lives across the street (alberta) has been canvassing the neighborhood for studies.
i watch her walk up and down the street and being very friendly and helpful with her neighbors (all the while preaching to them i'm sure).

Kist:
I'm so sorry this is happening to you. You answered my question perfectly as to whether I should get involved. I, too, feel the same way and want to get involved for the same reasons. I just have to do it tactfully and soon before the brainwashing takes affect.

Gee... what great ideas you all have. Thanks everyone. I was starting to panic as to what to do. I'll mull them over and let you know what happens between now and the holidays. Again, thanks.

Danger when pumping gas
by xenawarrior ini saw this on a news show last night and i had never heard anything about it before.
since i'm up till all hours of the night, i don't know if it was a prime time news show or late night so i can't tell you the name of the program.. it seems that there is a danger when pumping gas when folks return to sit inside their vehicle etc., they may pick up static electricity and then when going back to the nozzle, a spark from that static electricity can cause an explosion.
rubbing your feet on the carpeted mats or sliding across the seat to get into the glove compartment can all pick up static and then, if the gas nozzle is the next thing you touch, it could cause an explosion.

This is scary.
I knew about cell phones. I didn't know about getting in and out of the car. I also work in a Port with petroleum tank ships all around. The Nation's largest petroleum tank farm is down the street. I don't want to hear about static electricity.
