JW's not happy people
by wannaexit ini've noticed a lot of discontent among my jw friends.
i've had some express to me how stressed out they are because the meetings take up too much time and the assemblies are too long.
( a lot of complaining about this international assembly coming up).

Ray Franz.....LIAR?
by integ inone of my witness family members agreed to take a look at crisis of conscience, and after.
perusing the first couple of chapters, said that she thought it could be all made up.
agreed that the documents presented could be legitimate, but as far as franz's personal.

I buy mine at Walgreens. I've been wearing "California Girls" and "Nailene Active Oval" (paint yourself) nails for six months. Califnornia Girls are longer and fancier and I wear them as a change. They have beautiful french tips and patterns. It's such fun. I LOVE THEM. But I like the Nailene Active Ovals the best which you paint yourself and they are more natural looking. Both are inexpensive and they last for about 2 weeks. They are fairly strong. If one happens to pop off, you glue it back on in 10 seconds. No waiting to grow a new one or having to panic because you can't get an immediate appointment at the salon . My own nails? Terrible. Been a nail biter all my life (in and out of the Borg ).
Pantyhose? Gotta wear 'em. I don't feel dressed without them. My legs are too, too white. Even though I live in Florida, I am never out in the sun. I'm fair skinned. Not good. Not wearing pantyhose is against our company's "business casual" policy (which essentially means no ties for the men and that's about as far as it goes towards dress down). In defense of the policy, if no hose were acceptable, the girls in our office would look like they're going for a day at the beach...bare legs, sandals, shorts, t shirts and all. Our President would have a fit!

Watchtower (scratching their heads). Hum--m-m. Well, we:
"Can't kill him" (although I bet that ran across their mind more than once )
"Can't sue him" (cause he's telling the truth and we don't want THAT exposed; besides, he has WITNESSES. )
But we CAN destroy his credibility in the minds of JW's by BRAINWASHING* them so they have the right response at the right time. Just like we did with the INTERNET. We couldn't kill that either but heh-heh, we had YEARS to work on their heads so they had the proper response at the proper time.
*Er-r-r "maniuplating their thinking". Is that better?
JW's need to wake up and get the fog out of their brains. The WT is lying to you; not Ray Franz.

To the frustrated, freedom from responsibility is more attractive than freedom from restraint. They are eager to barter their independence for relief from the burdens of willing, deciding and being responsible for inevitable failure. They willingly abdicate the directing of their lives to those who want to plan, command and shoulder all responsibility.
Blondie:
I so agree. I'd like to read that book. This is my friend(?) (who is still in the Borg) to the tee. She actully worried because she had dreams where she would be the only one following the false prophet (how close this is to her reality right now). She was always so busy all the time and had a TO DO list that was ridiculous. When she got engaged, she actually had "Get married" on her TO DO list! Well, when the JW's came knocking, how tempting and easy it was for her to turn over her "Develop a relationship with God" task to an organization who would take care everything in such a nice, orgnanized. CONTROLLED process with the promise of "We take care of each other; you can count on us because we're Jehovah's organization and no one else has His blessing ." " NOT (not even close) So now everything she does revolves around the Borg and her To Do list is just as long as it always was.
And Me? Why did I join the Borg? Because she was my best friend, like the sibling that I never had and I emotionally needed that friendship. I, too, was a spiritual person and truly searching for the right way to serve God. I thought she was on to something. I trusted her judgment (she is a very bright person although I now know she was emotionally weak...as I was) which is why I never researched the organization as I would have done normally (I didn't have the Internet at the time). My independent thinking () eventually saved me but not until 11 years of my precious life went down the tubes and having to suffer the loss of my best friend. I doubt that she will ever come out. She always had to be the perfect daugher, the perfect employee, the perfect wife, the perfect housekeeper, and now she is trying to be the perfect JW.
Now I concentrate on making my own happiness by makng new friends , developing my own relationship with God without the interference of an organization (religious or otherwise), and trying to get over the absolute anger that I have for myself, my friend, and the Watchtower. Learning to forgive is so hard.
Cheers, Trot

I thought this was well worth reading. Some good advice. I think I'll try some of her suggestions.

P.S. OOPS...I just noticed her note at the bottom not to reproduce without permission. Oh, well. Too late now.

by Trotafox inhm-m-m-m-m-m. found this article.
the following is for those of us on the board who are ex-jw and still christian (i just know you ex-jw ex-christians are chompin' at the bit...i can feel it through my computer...okay, okay; you can comment).

Thanks, Rocketman. I'm timid at posting non-fluff things. I don't like to get involved in great debates.
Mann377: We know that but I think they are perceived by everyone else as being zealous. I mean there aren't many who will get out of bed on a Sat or Sun morning to go pound on doors (for the wrong person no less). Ergo "Gee, these people are really zealous". If they only knew many are only going throught he motions.

(I just know I'm going to regret this so I may disappear.

Jesika: It's a very thoughtful letter. Do what you feel you have to do. However, I have to agree with herk and JT about mailing it. JW's abhor (or at the very least scared to death of) those who had the audacity to leave them. Period. End of discussion.
I lost what I thought was a best friend, too. Her quote on our last telephone conversation: "I do not have the time nor the inclination to spend on proving the Society wrong". She said goodbye forever and I probably will never forgive her for not caring enough to even listen as to why. Her mouth was going a mile a minute and she was not in the frame of mind to listen. She hadn't been for a long time!
I lost her as a friend the day the Watchtower took over and I hate and will never forgive that organization as long as I live for the hurt it has caused me and others. Write her a letter? Not in this lifetime.

Corporate Corruption (major vent!)
by Billygoat insome of you know the work issues i went through last year.
i worked at a company that was pretty new (a dot com) but owned by two huge corporations that will never run out of money.
anyways, the two men i worked with were the biggest backstabbing, unethical people i've ever met.

((((Andi))))
Oh don't even get me started. You're not alone. God help my Company if the labor market ever changes. They are going to be leaving in droves. My Company is run by a micro-managing control-freak tyrant who manages by fear and intimidation, plays favorites, tells everyone how stupid and worthless they are, has fired 3 CFO's in less than 3 years, laid off hundreds of people without even looking at performance, service, or personal situation, will not approve any replacement hiring for employees who terminate, has turned the place into a sweatshop, and is getting a real kick out of collecting his millions along the way. Smug S.O.B.! He reminds me of Nicolae Carpathia (a.k.a. Satan...from the "Left Behind" series by LaHaye & Jenkins).
Why do I stay? Been there off and on since 1976 and have too much invested at my age. However, I sure would like to get a real estate investment business going if my health would improve. The stress is so bad at work that it's taking a toll on my health. Of course, that's probably part of the S.O.B.'s plan. Out with the old and in with the new, even though I work longer hours than my boss.
