  New instructions on not using sisters to manage KH computer ?

  since covid in france, especially in the countryside with lack of brothers, it was quite common that some sisters were using the computer at the back of the kingdom hall to manage zoom session.. i heard a rumor that new instructions, maybe a july letter, stated that this was reserved for male only, even unbaptised publishers, but no sister if there is at least a male available.

  that would be a steps back and disappointment for these sisters.

  last week i heard at my mom’s house how they were happy that this service was available for them, a proof that the org was moving forward.

  I personally experienced the same story when downgraded after opening my mouth. In my very small congregation some unbaptized teenagers were carrying the mic. Sisters stayed on their chair, like me. It was seen as a training for future brothers.

  That’s why I was very surprised to see sisters managing the computer in my mom’s hall. That would not happen in my former congregation. Maybe it was some local initiatives in this very small congregation, but some brothers were still available and used at some other tasks, so no problem with them

  Anyway apparently there was recently an internal letter to stop this, maybe except if there is really absolutely no brother available.

  Hi guys,

  could please you confirm if letter has been read at WE meeting?

  From different feedbacks not a word in several places around me during WE, so I’m surprised because Atlantis letter was saying it was supposed to be read next meeting, not especially mentioning mid week.

  But video is available in our language and brothers are sending jokes on social media.

  Hi,

  seems very close to what was announced in France 10 years ago (see my old thread https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/243341/france-no-more-local-bank-accounts-congregations ), but was not fully applied. I don’t know why, maybe legal issues at that time.

  Regarding current letter, not heard anything in France at the moment from my relatives.

  Hi guys

  we had the same information in France this week.

  for my group, for 6 weeks during summer, every Saturday at 2PM it will begin with the WT study and then the streaming of half day convention.

  So you are supposed to lose all you Saturday afternoons this summer. but... there is more!

  A mid week zoom meeting will be held in small groups to share « «interesting points» about the program! Of course this is NOT to be sure you watched the broadcast... Trapped!

  is it same arrangement where you live, or just my over zealous elders ?

  I attended a convention in France. We were all connected to Paris where David Splane made the announcement.

  Every attendant received a hard copy of the new Bible, just immediately delivered to our seat after the announcement. Except for people in the french islands or french-spoken coutries in Africa : they will have a more robust version because of their weather conditions, but the supplier was late.

  For the congregations who already had their convention last weeks, they will receive hard copies starting next week. BTW, the new word for congregation in France is now "Local assembly".

  Major changes to convention security beginning in 2017

  short info on interesting changes to the major conventions this year: there will be a new security concept that will be implemented at all regional conventions in 2017.. similar to other major events (e.g.

  festivals, concerts), there will be admittance controls in stadiums.. - at each entrance, there will be a massive presence of attendants that look at each visitor.. - there will be pocket checks at the entrance.. - suspicious persons are no longer left on the convention grounds.. - suppliers to the stadium will be intensively inspected by attendants.. - there will be a special sign for attendants that must enter the stadium before 7.30 am.

  Be careful this doc is relative to ONE specific region (East) in France, and the numbers mentioned above are on a specific found for solidarity.

  Any way, since the change 4 years ago, nobody understands in France where the money goes today. When the guys gives the numbers from the platform we do not have a complete view of what is sent.
