so i haven't been to a meeting since last december.
the elders recently have come over to my house at random times of day and during the week and one weekends.
just to let you know, i have only had one visit since december.

Just to let you know, I have only had one visit since December. Why the sudden interest? My guess, the C.O. might be coming soon and they are going to be grilled about me going inactive. I don't open the door, but they don't get the hint. My phone has also suddenly been "blowing up"
Any ideas on why the interest, will avoiding them work?
i love this site, it has been instrumental in my "waking up" as i have read thread after thread i realized something, people who have left the borg "apostates" (i used that term loosely, and mean no offense) are much more understanding and loving to someone who's learning the ttatt.
once someone states they don't want to give out too much personal info.

Once someone states they don't want to give out too much personal info. while telling "their story" (for obvious reasons) NO ONE attacks the person and says if you REALLY believe the TTATT you need to defend it all times! yada yada yada, rather the answer to someone posting their story has always been understanding and loving. In contrast, in the BORG if someone if feeling the slight bit "down" there is an endless supply of "Friends" ready to pounce on someone letting them know, they are weak.
Guess what I am trying to say is, thanks to everyone for understanding that this is the most stressful/tough decision that anyone of us have made (those of us who have uber-witness families)

really the whole thing is ludicrious but it is hilarious and sad at the same time to see grown people arguing about weather there will be cars, planes, eat meat, what about fish, etc in a place as imaginary as oz, yet to them it is reality.. the teaching of a paradise earth was so illogical it really was the first thing that started me on the path to waking up.
just the thought that someone could greet their beloved spouse who had died only to come to the realization that they could never be together again struck me as so cruel, i didnt want to live there even if it was all true.. i have heard jws say they think we might be able to fly, read minds since we will be able to use 100% and some seem to think life would be an endless vacation, with modern conveniences with no thought to all the processes and work that goes into something simple like a pencil.
i love the article jwfacts has on the flaws of any theory or teaching of paradise earth.. what are some things you have heard discussed/argued in car groups, gatherings etc when you were in?.
An overweigh elder the craziest comment once, we were discussing Isaiah 40:30-31.

so a buddy of mine called me out of the blue and said that he was in town and wanted to do lunch on saturday.
(he has no idea that i am inactive) he left bethel last sept. and lives about 80 miles away.
he's currently serving as an ms. as we are eating our lunch he asks me if i have read the july 15th wt.
Yeah, I'm crossing my fingers. There are alot of "good-hearted" Dubs. These changes will make most think 1 of 2 ways: 1.) This Jah's light is getting brigher and brighter. 2.) Things are getting more strict, why??? "Man, it's getting tougher and tougher to be a dub.

I said yes, he asks what I think about it. I said I not sure how I feel, but there are a lot of changes that's for sure. I was dying to spread the news of TTATT, but I had to rein myself in. Just like when you are preaching to someone giving them too much info. at once can turn them off, so I invited him to think. I asked him what about you, what do you thing about the 07/15 WT? He said the org. is tightening things up for sure, but that's what we need with the great trib. right around the corner. I said, ok but are these changes more loving and understanding for the friends? Then, I brought out the big guns: Congregation camping trips during the late 80's/early 90's. I said remember how fun those were? The whole cong. would have a good time and you could feel the love, right? He talked for about 5-8 mins. about the good times camping and the cong is different now. I said if the great trib. is right around the corner, should the cong. be even MORE loving than in the 80's. He agreed. To wrap up the convo. I said can I read an uplifiting/encouraging scripture? he said yeah! I grabbed my bible from the car and we read Matthew 11:30
He said this is SO true, things should be getting more loving not tighening the grip on the friends.
We said goodbye and he texted me on Sun. saying thanks for the encouragement.

9/11 was very similiar in the fact that many JW's were excited. 9/11 was on a Tuesday, I remember the we had the C.O. visit that night and he made a point about not being afraid rather be joyful this may be that start of the great tribulation and great and events may occur one right after another culminating in the big "A."

Me: What about the familes of the loved ones who parished or were injured? That's not exciting. Poor families :(
Elder: We shouldn't worry, we know this going to happend and it will get worse, we need to be alert. Anyway we haven't heard of any witnesses being injured.
Me: Bro, that's a sick way of thinking. That's like the NAACP saying that it not a big deal if no African American were killed or injured.
Elder: Well you know how it is..... You coming to meeting this weekend?

It's sad to say it but in some sick , and twisted way JW's get off on horrible events like the one that occured yesterday.

guess what guys i am the opposite, now i quit cold-turkey (looking back, i should have faded correctly) i am planning on going to the memorial this month just to hear all "the friends" tell me how much they missed me.
since i have left the meetings, (jan. was my last meeting, i think).
You know, It's hobbile to say this but: I REALLY think that JW' like to see depressed and run down Inactive Dubs! They really get off on the fact that they were able to "bring back" a weak one with there "love"

RobertT, I'm sorry you feel that way brother. I had the same hesitation ALL of my family is uber-spiritual but I have never been happier. I can honestly say that. Is everything perfect? No But my stress level has gone WAY down since I stopped going to meetings. I've had more time to focus on ME and I can see the results.
