I just decided to quit cold-turkey. I felt like I couldn't stand another meeting with all the crap that was being spewed as "bible-based" but several of you guys made a good point, now it looks like a secret sin because I avoid them. I need to come up with a good excuse of why I've stop going looks like it will be either health or WTS protecting predetors. I'm going to text an elder to see if we can meet (when the CO isn't here)
I work till 6:30pm, and it's just my wife and I.
She's been really supportive, she doesn't agree with my fade but said "that's your deal" and has not bugged me about it.
She asked what to do if the elders wanted to talk to her, I said to tell them to talk to MISTER El Guapo, they have to respect my headship.
She said that she been asked "What's my deal" and she's told them that I was going to some tough times. They answered "we've been trying to get in touch with him, but he refused to talk to us Why is that, sister???"

So the elders, have been hounding me non-stop, now.
Calling or texing me at least once a day. I have read that it's best not to explain doubts to them, but I'm not sure how to shake them. I've told them it's between Jehovah and me and my diabetes has been acting up. I don't want to be rude about it, but they knocked on my door both Saturday and Sunday. (I didn't open the door) but man, these guys aren't getting the hint.
On Sunday, they left a note that said they will be coming with C.O. next week (please call us to let us know when is a good time to visit)
I know someone might say, just tell them off! But ALL of my fam is in the Org, I'm looking for a peaceful (If possibe) way to get my point across that I want to be left alone.

Could it be that "We" see things first-hand that the R&F don't see? (This was my response, the lack of love, favoritism, etc.)
To me it still blows me away everytime I see a post from active/former elders,
I don't mean to discriminate to the other brothers and sisters, but surely they must be see that someting obviously is wrong with the BORG if men who should be "examples for the cong." are looking for solid bible-based answers/or just trying to get out.
So, I finally get a knock on the door this Sat. morning. It was 2 elders. They stopped by because they were "concerned" Thanks for the JWN, I was aware of their tactics: Guilt if that doesn't work fear. So, I said what the heck and let them in. The first brother asked me how I was doing, I said GREAT!!! I've lost 10 pounds in the last 45 days, I was employee of the month for December at work and have been reading my bible more than ever. I can honestly say Jah is more real to me know more than ever. They had this shocked looked on their faces, then came the fear. You know "we are living in the last moments of the last days, Guapo" Jehovah's day is very near, we are either on his side or not. I said yup, that's why I read the bible everyday and try my best to apply what I have learned. They why are you going to meetings???? I said I've had alot on my plate and have been under alot of stress, but thanks to Jah, I've been feeling much better. I told them: "I appreciate you brothers stopping by, my wife and I were on our way out, but know that I love you guys as my brothers.
They had this priceless "dear in the headlights" look as I walked them out. LOL

You know the funny thing is that this elder (older white brother-big wig at work type of fellow) had car trouble with his daughters car once and who did he call? Of course the Spanish brother who was dishwasher. The elder later told me that his timing belt busted and the Spanish bro changed the timing belt and water pump and didn't want to charge the elder he just told him "whatever you want to give me brother, is fine. Jah will bless me many times over." The elder ended up giving him $75.00 WOW!!!! (If you know even a little about cars you know that this is a VERY expensive job)
Talk about taking advantage of the flock!

We visited a spanish family of 8 who was "broke" they had no furniture in their apartment. (They had a several blankets foled and in the corner and one of the kids said they ALL sleep in the living room) It was suprising seeing this family who was always so happy live so poor. I was shocked. The elder talked about the importance of meetings. The brother, (a dishwasher who worked even on Sundays-a big no-no) said that his boss wouldn't budge and he had to work on the weekends. The elder said trust in Jah. The brother got emotional and said that he hadn't pay the electic bill and was worried it was going to be shut off. The elder didn't care. As we are driving back in the car, I ask the elder why the cong. doesn't help the family? He said that we don't do that, they should look to family in times of need (financially) , first. But if a brother wanted to help out as an individual (like ME) it was fine. I asked why do we bring a brother and his wife from bethel every memorial season for the talk. We pay for plane tickets, food, etc. (I was the account servant so I knew how much $$$ we were spending) but can't help a brother who REALLY does need the help (Not just a vacation from Brooklyn) He looked at me and said "It's the way things are done, and it's best to just let it go!"
That always bugged me, but it's not till you leave the borg that you see the cold-hearted actions of the elders time and time again.

You are so right, I talked to an elder this morning. And I told him I decided to step down, my diabetes has really taken a toll on me and my hours and meeting attendance have taken a dive. I am no longer exempalry in those fields, it was like talking to wall. LOL He called me and said we are having an elder and M.S. meeting at the end of the month and I wanted to make sure you will be there. We have exiting news and can't wait to share with all the M.S.'s
