This is by far the best DB for JW's. It contains some real useful information. Amongst some total crap I might add.
I used to believe in the WTS but now I dont. I discovered the truth about them.
I also have a secret... which I am not going to let on yet... unless someone guesses it correctly and asks me. I wont lie.

Why do we need a 'god'?

but over and over i keep thinking why do we need a god??.
are we such weak creatures who stand by and hope and yes i mean hope that there will be an end to injustice??

Are we such weak creatures who stand by and hope and yes I mean hope that there will be an end to injustice?? I'm not just talking about war, famine etc I'm talking about the prejudices that run so deep within society, that are not addressed and thus people suffer.
Unfortunately, we humans ARE weak creatures. What can we do, if the big boys at the top are playing the world like a computer game? Theres nothing we can do. Protest, maybe. My solution would to be get rid of TV, a lot of "pop" music, major sources of influence. There IS a sinister force behind all this. The problems in society are stimulated by the people at the top, controlled by Satan.
It is for weak minded (and yes that used to include me) people who are afraid to take responsibility for themselves or the world around them.
Im pretty convinced that Jehovah God through the Bible does command us to take control of our lives, show responsibility. IF all people lived in harmony with the Bible, then there would be none of the problems you write about. So it is the weak-minded people who do NOT accept there is a God and / or do NOT live by his guidance, these are the people who are making this planet a mess. Also, this is the work of Satan ultimately.

What do you like about K Halls?

i am not talking about the software i.e., the people, the pure language, the music, the smell of lavender as the toilet door swings to, or the obedient rustle of bible pages.

I think some Kingdom Halls are impressive, if a little drab, considering they are built very quickly and stay built. My KH has windows, but they are tiny. I think natural light is a lot better than electric light for reading, but as usual the cheap skates at the WTS would rather watch their bank balance increase than pay a little extra for windows. Sad.

having examined these supposed fulfillments, i find that most of them are too vague to be convincing.

"GOD IS A LIAR"
Debunking all the prophets as false, this person has no idea. He will discover the hard way that the prophets are in fact true. This is just pure, evil blasphemy. Stay away at all costs.

Is God real to you?
by alias inin a recent topic someone mentioned how much they have drifted from god since they "left the jw's.".
as someone brought up in the org (inactive for several years)i have found this to be similiar in my case.
i don't know how much i believe the fan/plug analogy (remember that in the live forever book?

Jehovah God is as real to me as he ever has been, if not more. Now I have discovered the reality of the WTBTS, I am in a position to serve Jehovah the way He wants me to, not the way a group of men who's interest is in themselves and NOT Jehovah.
I think it is so easy to deviate from Jehovah after leaving the "truth". But remember one thing: Jehovah is real. The WTBTS are to blame for all the bad stuff they do, NOT Jehovah. The WTBTS will recieve their due punishment. Nothing can replace Jehovah. Keep faith in Him, dont let Satan get the better of you. He likes to kick a dog while its down.
Keep praying. He will guide you. Prayer is the answer.

Yes, the truth about the religion we are brainwashed into believing is the "truth" by calling it that, had determined my hopes and goals, and to discover the serious problems was painful.
I count myself fortunate that I have no family who are witnesses, I responded to a call and things moved on from there. I havent had it too bad compared to some of the stories I have read on here.
