Perhaps they could keep the GB as staff. I love the idea of Splane having to empty bedpans.

Should Bethel Be Turned Into An Old Folks Home?
by frankiespeakin ineventually with out sourcing of printing being more efficiantly and cheaply done, and the decrease in demand for printed material, what should be done with all those career bethelites that are past the age of 65?.
maybe they should just turn bethel into an retirement home for thoses that gave their all to the corporation.. maybe keep a few of the more attractive young brothers to do remakes of their famous masturbation no no videos for the closet gays on the governing body?
to keep things from getting tideously dull and boring..

Do you think that generally there is a fall in interest in the 'memorial'(TM) of late?
by punkofnice ini remember the days when the mock the christ ritual memorial would have the kingdum hell brimming.. i haven't been for at least 2 years.....and i'll never go again unless i'm offered a substantial amount of money to do so.. the last mock the christ memorial i went to the side rooms were used but the hall still had spare seats.. i know the overall speed of the 'growth(tm)' seems to be slackenning off so i guess the pass the cutlery ritual will be in decline by way of attendance too.. i think some of the peak in attendance was where kingdum hells were merged.. what say you?.

There were 61 at the memorial here - down 19 I think from last year.
A few JWs here on holiday and maybe 4 or 5 studies.
Normal meetings here are around 40 in attendance.

Sorry, no - the link was to a different thing - I was just trying to find somewhere comparable in the same area to see how prices are.

My thoughts and observations re: the Memorial
by 144001 inwhile sitting through my annual visit to a kingdom hall tonight, i had the following thoughts/observations:.
1. the speaker appealed to the kids: "how many here are 15 years of age or younger?
" he then went on to tell us how exciting it would be to "lie down" with lions that eat straw instead of flesh, and further discussed jw kids napping with leopards, bears, and cattle.

$ 2 million (AUS) for an old house and ~78 football pitches?
I don't know much about property, but it seems a lot?

First mention of "new light" may appear in July 15, 2013 Watchtower
by cedars ina trusted source informs me that the "new light" about the faithful slave is to make its first printed appearance in the july 15th watchtower, which should be available for download online three weeks from now, on around april 15th.. i'm led to believe that the references to the new understanding are made in such a manner as to suggest the "new light" isn't that new at all, which suggests to me that little or no effort is being made to explain the doctrinal connotations.
my source and i are hoping to get a key paragraph posted at the earliest opportunity.
watch this space!.

I will be interested to see how they explain who was the FDS between 1917 and 1942. I suspect they won't try.

Paul - if it was me, I would convert spreadsheets to XML (easy with Excel) and code webpages with something like: http://www.flotcharts.org/
With all respect, this might be a bit technical for most though. Just a suggestion - I'm sure there may be better ones.

By all means Paul - your site was certainly in mind while I was putting this together.
I will also try and keep the raw scans as I go, which might be added to your historical data page:
http://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/statistics-historical-data.php
Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more - I'm working my way back through the yearbooks.

Thanks TheOldHippie - I forgot the number of "other lands" changes - that might be the answer to many of these.
besty - thanks for the advice - will perhaps look at that when I've added more years and it's been through a few "error checking" cycles.
Cheers also wezz - files in the first post have been corrected and updated:

Also, just to clarify, does everyone understand the reasons for this? The main reason as I see it, is that it allows you to very quickly create graphs to compare complex data and multiple fields. For instance, with a few clicks in Excel, you can now create graphs like the one below. (also you start to notice weird things like the peak for Chile in 2012 was lower than the average?!?!)
