http://www.cracked.com/blog/4-religions-youve-got-all-wrong-because-hollywood/.
the article describes four different religions (rastafari, jws, amish, and scientology); jws are #3.. the jw entry is pretty accurate (and as usual, funny), but surprisingly doesn't mention the two-witness-rule-related legal troubles the wt has been having lately.

don't you wonder sometimes who these "others" are, the watchtower claims they are helping with spiritual and material needs?.
.. "promoting the christian religion by helping congregations of jehovah's witnesses & others with their spiritual & material welfare.".
.. exactly who are these others that are being helped with their spiritual & material needs?.
Funny in the activities section how one bit is described as "obtaining and giving away religious literature" - why didn't they just say "printing"?
I wonder if they get the US branch or some other shell company to "sell" them the printed literature at a hugely inflated price so it doesn't look like they're doing a straight transfer of money but buying literature instead?

i came across this website: http://www.ministryideaz.com/2014-jw-regional-convention-notebook-p/cu15dcgr.htm .
there it reads: note taker for 2015-2016 "imitate jesus!
" regional convention of jehovah's witnesses.
GB says: "IMITATE JESUS!"
i hope this link works for everyone.
if you can watch this video, i think you will find it very interesting how closely scientology resembles the watchtower society.
for example, the watchtower's 'apostates' equate to scientology's 'suppressives.
Will certainly make for an interesting documentary.
Apparently Louis Theroux has been working on a documentary about it for quite a while too.
Was listening Joe Rogan's podcast with him and they were discussing how the Scientology cult first seems to get all the dirt they can on someone (under the premise of confessing sins type of thing etc.) then they can use that to blackmail people when they threaten to leave. I hadn't considered the obvious cases like Tom Cruise and John Travolta where it looks like they were threatened to be outed as gay to keep them in the cult.
Louis Theroux discussing it here from about 2:31:25:
just can't wrap my head around this.
the guy (a) evidently did all of this on purpose, and (b) evidently had no reason at all to do so.. there is a huge chunk of the puzzle missing from this one (so far)..
Either the pilot in the cockpit suffered a heart attack or some other disabling physical impairment where he was unconscious and could not let the other pilot back into the cockpit...
That can be ruled out in this case - the cockpit door is designed to open with a keypad from the outside after 30 seconds, unless someone inside the cockpit actively switches the automatic opening off within that time. Unconscious people don't push switches.
it appears that a new 16-page brochure, with the title "return to jehovah" is to be released at the regional convention (dc) this year.
it would be written specifically for those faded or da/df.chapters are:a letter from the governing body1.
the lost one i will search for2.

i don't know if anybody has seen this (or if anybody cares).
but it seems that some of the "new" new songs have been leaked by somebody at bethel.. just a bit of a warning, do not click on that vocal rendition of song 142... it is awful.
They almost sound like a WT Christmas album?
Song 140 starts like it's about to turn into this:

And Song 141 sounds like this:

Song 142 is channeling The Lion King:
30 minutes and a km article of 13 paragraphs to consider how the field service group should be 5 mins brief!.
how ironic!.
(find this in the kingdum misery for march).
It's just a one more item in a trend of the total joke that the service meeting has become.
Week in and week out, there is very little substance to the service meeting items these days - it's either reviewing a previous item earlier in the month, looking ahead to upcoming parts, or reading some bit from the yearbook. Just recycling the same junk with alarming frequency.
Incidentally here this week it's an assembly weekend so there's no Thursday meeting. However, the elders have changed the service meeting in two weeks so that they are still having this 30 minute item anyway!
