I didn't think it could get any more boring than yesterday but it did.
That bit about elders not being like Pharisees and more like Jesus was a good laugh. Remind me who is holding the judicial committees again?
some circuit overseer gave a talk and made this statement - "jehovah will very soon resurrect millions of people.....".
"soon" is so old hat now - "very soon" will become the new buzz words in j.w.-land..

walking towards my seat after lunch, i made eye-contact with a j.w.
male walking towards me.
as we were passing, he smiled and said 'hello', so i replied with, 'hello'.. well, if a member of the g.b.
Haha I totally know what ypu mean notsurewheretogo - I'm trying my hardest to leave and much happier.
That talk made it seem like becoming inactive is just something people do accidentally though, like: "oops, I'm inactive!"
There was that (probabably made-up) experience of the sister who actually made some real friends at work and went horse riding instead of the meetings. I was thinking: "that soinds like fun!"
It really does seem like the most boring convention though, despite their attempts to shoe-horn a video into every talk, like: "oh that bible mentions birds here - lets have a few minutes of stock footage of birds in case you don't know what they look like."
I don't know how you folks with kids stand it in the heat of that auditorium though - I have to go wander outside.
so each of the attendants at the glasgow convention this weekend have all been handed a photo of some guy that has been disrupting conventions in the uk.
(the same one as in london i read about a couple of weeks ago?
apparently he was sighted at the glasgow convention today, though there was no disruption as far as i know.. has anyone else ever heard of photo i.d.
Yeah Sanderson gave the Friday afternoon talk about inactive JWs - I was having a snooze. His talks are being relayed to other UK conventions happening this weekend.
That's interesting notsurewheretogo - I haven't heard anyone openly discussing the protester, but it was mentioned to attendants early in the morning.
Is your friend with the G4S Hydro staff or just the regular JW bouncers? I can imagine the G4S folks would probably be less concerned about a crazy protester as they probably consider all the JWs a bit crazy.

I'm all for exJW activism, but you must be a pretty terrible protester if they have a photo of you.
I prefer not to name and shame, but if you're reading this dude, maybe re-think your strategy. Oh and growing a beard totally didn't work - they still recognized you.
Also for those who don't know already, Mark "overlapper" Sanderson is putting in a suprise appearance here this weekend. Will be interesting if he makes any mention of child abuse.
it may have been posted already, however can anyone tell me if the gb has responded in any way to the issues going on in australia, either vague references or tv.
thx.

there is so much information on the website of the hearing.
you can find the full transcripts of each day there as pdf.. but also the evidence list is very interresting.
it contains many confidential letters from congregations but also from the hq to branch offices.. the full list can be seen here: http://www.childabuseroyalcommission.gov.au/exhibits/636f01a5-50db-4b59-a35e-a24ae07fb0ad/case-study-29,-july-2015,-sydney.
That elders book makes me wonder:
They submitted the new version of the flock book as evidence, but when most of these abuses took place would they not still be under the old flock book? Therefore, shouldn't they be referencing the old one? Or is it more about looking at current policy?
im not sure if bruce had a sex operation but lets say someone did have a sex operation and then studied with the witnesses and wanted to get baptized, would he qualify in todays jw world?
could he have privileges?
the bible says the past cant be held against you, once you accept the truth.
He would also be baptized as a man (whatever the hell that means - I guess they get to go first or something)
I think there's a bit in the elder's book about it.
if anyone has a copy of the letter regarding the kingdom hall money grab (including the 2 pages the congregation did not see) can you please post a copy or copy and paste it.. thanks!.
the whole meeting for me was nauseating yesterday... the talk was on "science".. nuff said... then the watchtower, they are just spinning in circles patting themselves on the back lately it seems, but this is one thing that really stuck out to me.. i heard the comment multiple times about how the 2013 version of nwt made things "easier to understand" "simpler" and so on.
this has been one of my main beefs with yhwh and his book.
this is supposedly the tool for mankind to all live or die based on whether or not they:.
so today's wt seems to put out the idea that during early christian times it was god's hand that made the romans build roads, have strong laws, etc.
to make the preaching easier.. anyone else notice that?
some here really banged on about how great it was that god did that, just for them.
