Disfellowshipped JW's Still Have "Normal Family Relations"
by Sea Breeze in"when someone is disfellowshipped from the religion, normal family relations continue, with the exception of spiritual fellowship.”a watchtower lawyer clears up this common misunderstanding:.

Have You Ever Been Scammed?
by minimus inof course we all were scammed while we were jehovah’s witnesses.
i’m thinking of ways besides religion.. a popular scam is to get a call from your electric company saying they overbilled you and needed to verify your name, address and social security number.
then they will send you your money back.

Things people tried to scam me on, but I didn't fall for; IRS, Social Security, Electric Bill, Microsoft.
With Microsoft, I had just bought a new computer and just got it all put together. Not even 45 minutes later I got a phone call from a guy with a thick Indian accent saying that my computer had been compromised. I replied just before I hung up on him, "Dude I don't even own a computer,"
With the IRS, they kept calling me, I kept hanging up. I did though go to my local IRS and talked to them in person. After taking my information, they said that I was good and didn't own anything. After that, I did a trace on the number and called their local police department, in Arizona, and made a police report. I haven't heard another word from them since, and that was over 5 years ago.
I did though fall for one scam, but only once. I thought it was a job that would allow me to work from home, but ended up loosing a little bit of cash instead.

Kh's will be gone in 5 years! Here's how it will work
by nowwhat? inbesides the media center they are going to build in n.y. it's been noted they are also building one and a studio in australia.
there is no way donations can cover these massive projects.
so the money will have to come from the sale of the remaining halls.

There is a huge problem with meeting in people's homes, not zoned. I was told that was why they stopped having the Tuesday night (or whatever night) book study in private homes. To put a stop to that would just take a few complaints from the neighbors about all the cars parked around a home to the police.
As far a the monitoring what one is doing on the web, that would be very easy to work around, it would involve having two separate devices. One would only be used for Watchtower related things, and the other would be for all the other stuff.

Clergy Penitent Privilege
by lastmanstanding inthis privilege is not biblical.. neither is it supported is any jw teaching or publication.. the catholic church invented it, and its primary use is.... drum roll please.... to grant absolution.. do jehovah’s witness elders, who seek the same invented privilege, also grant absolution?.
if a jw elder hears “a sacred confession” then he must also grant absolution, absolving the sinner of his crimes.... er... sin..

I really don't see how the Watchtower can even say that they are protected under the clergy penitent privilege when in all their publications they say they DO NOT have a clergy class, and if a person made the mistake of saying clergy, regarding the elders, someone would quickly correct them about it.

When I was in high school, Algebra was semi required class; if a student brought a signed paper from a parent they wouldn't have to take the class. My parents didn't see the need for it and thought it was a waste of time. The only thing my dad ever said about Algebra was, "Pie are not square, pie are round." That was in my freshman year in school. Then when I was a junior, I wanted to take a computer programming class but missed out on it because I would have to first take two years of Algebra.
After I graduated I attempted to learn it, but it made absolutely no sense to me. Then when my youngest son had learned it, he attempted to show me the very beginner's part of it, but still, again it is completely foreign to me. Do I feel like I missed out on knowing this? I would say yes, I missed out on a whole lot of possibilities. I'm just happy that at least that my sons both understand this subject, and it is easy for them to understand. At least they they won't be missing out.

What’s Your Opinion of Adam Schiff?
by minimus ini’ve heard some people praise him for his zeal against president trump.
others have not been so praiseworthy toward the california congressman.. today he was so concerned that trump might be so emboldened now that he has won acquittal, that he suggests that trump might make a deal with russia and sell them the state of alaska.
😐.

My take on this person is that he is someone who can NOT be trusted with the words coming out of his mouth.

How Can Football (Soccer) Teams Allow Their Players to Participate in "Friendlies?"
by RubaDub ini could never understand how the best football (soccer) players are allowed to participate in these things called friendlies.
aren't the teams and owners afraid of losing their investments of 10's of millions of dollars (euros) to injury?
and it appears that teams just make up their own schedules.. in american football, there is no possible way a team would allow an extra game.

A long time ago I asked a similar question on why. I can't recall who told me this, but they said why this was done was because a very long time ago things would escalate between the teams, and the players would get into some pretty brutal fights. What this did was to shake things up a bit, and bring players of different teams together to play on the same team, to become a new team.

Maybe the end is near. When I say the end is near, methinks the Watchtower is talking about themselves. ;)
