I was one of those, once I finally figured out about the Watchtower, I was one of those who "Ripped off the Band-Aid" so to speak, regardless of the outcome. At the time I was very scared of whether or not my marriage would have survived or not. Little did I know at the time my husband, who also grew up in the cult, did not believe in it but was just playing the game to make his mom and myself happy. After learning what I learned there was no way I could ever be a PIMO, to me it would have been going back to what I had vomited out. From that day forward I have never stepped foot back in another Kingdom Hall, not even for funerals. I was not going to send in a letter of dissociation, but I eventually did because it was the only way to end the Bull S. my brother-in-law was pulling on both my husband and me, so we sent it off back in Sep. 2001. At the time my children were just getting ready to turn 4 and 6 years of age. The oldest still remembers bits and pieces of his time in, but the youngest doesn't remember any, other than what he has asked me about over the years. The best part of not being a PIMO is that my sons did not grow up confused in their minds. Instead one is finishing up his time in the army, and the other is getting ready to start working towards his Master's (in college), and happily married.

I`m going out on a limb here ! ....PIMO
by smiddy3 inpimo , as i said i`m going out on a limb here and i might upset some people ,but i really don`t think this is a real strategy that works and doesn`t help the person who is still in.. while you may be doing this to keep the peace in the household and keep relations somewhat stable in the family arrangement ,it`s not helping the person who is still under the control of wt/gb to break free from it ,and isn`t that what you would really like to happen ?.
and are their children involved as well ?
that`s another issue ,the longer they are subject to this control the harder it will be for them to disengage get free.. maybe you should re-evaluate what you could do more to help your partner / spouse or whatever to free themselves from this bondage they have involved themselves in.. [ of course their may be others who are quite happy to have their partners/mates under the control of the wt/gb.

You have every right to be pissed off, I know because I went through something very similar with my own child when he was 5. In my case, it was the final straw that actually woke me up to the JW world that I was involved with, which was 21 years ago.

JW Harrasment
by enigma1863 inas most probably know scientology harasses stalks and even spreads lies about their former members to convince you not to trust them.
they are very good at smearing peoples names.. has their been any evidence the jw organization uses the same methods on specific individuals?
i don’t mean the general all apostates are bad stories posted for the rank and file.

I don't know on an organizational level, but I have witnessed it on a personal level. In my case, it was my brother-in-law and sister (my sister is married to my husband's brother). When we left, they did their best to slander us to our relatives who are not JWs, on a few occasions. But the people to who they were telling the lies, knew us very well and knew they were making up total BS. This stunt actually backfired and caused one of the relatives to change her mind about getting involved with the Watchtower.

As a JW, I was not judgemental towards others, but when it came to myself, I was my own worst enemy. I could never forgive myself for things that never matter in the first place. After leaving I did notice that I did become a much better person to my husband and children. Even my family noticed the changes in me. It was only after I left the Watchtower was I able to finally forgive myself, and finally put the past behind me. It felt just like a 10-ton boulder was lifted off of my shoulders.

Did you encounter any dishonest/shady business owners inside your local Kingdom Hall?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthe watchtower—study edition | december 2021.
7 a merchant might take pride in the fact that he had never taken anything that did not belong to him.
but what about his business practices?

Some of the worst as far as business is concerned from my own personal experience was JWs. I guess they don't think they have to worry about being sued or having the authorities called on them when they do what they do to fellow members.

I'm a granny taking care of my 2-year-old grandson, while his mama is in school. My hubby on the other hand works at a company that does the breaking system of several different brands of vehicles.

JW's coming on to this site to preach.
by Overrated inwebmaster for removing jw's that come on here to preach their crap.
i don't want to hear their fake stuff.
i come here to recover from their damage and to help others.

I completely agree with Overrated. About two years ago I finally was able to break my thoughts free from their nonsense. But that does not mean I want to be reminded of what I left behind. It took me nearly a year but recently I was finally able to get this one JW to finally stop writing me in person. For some odd reason, they take it as a green light for them if you decide to be polite and have a conversation with them.

What Do You Think of Dr. Fauci?
by minimus inlast year millions of people were singing his praises.
what’s your opinion of him right now?.

Personally, I think he is a quack. In one interview he mentioned how he had been studying this virus family since the 1970s. If he truly was, then he would not be going back and forth on things to do or not to do. After that interview, I started to become critical in my thoughts on this person. My husband on the other hand said there was something he just did not like or trust when he heard him talk the very first time on TV.

Are You Confident With Covid Vaccines and What Officials Say Is The Right Thing To Do?
by minimus inmost of my friends have gotten the vaccines and are quite confident that it’s just what the doctor ordered.
i’m not confident with dr. fauci.
i don’t like the fact that the makers of the vaccines are not held responsible if someone taking the vac develops an illness or even death.

To answer the question in the title, I am not confident in what the officials are saying. I have seen and heard just too much conflicting information from many of the same people who are saying what they are saying. But after finally breaking free from the Watchtower I have become very critical in my thought about what people in the position of power say on any matter.

Why Do People Loot and Destroy When Someone Gets Shot?
by minimus insomeone gets shot and or killed and hundreds of people decide to loot and destroy businesses or whatever else is in their path.
what does this do to make things better?
i really don’t get how they think it makes things better or solves anything..

Why do people loot and destroy? Because they know they can get away with it. When laws are no longer being enforced, chaos rules. Personally, I would love to see those who are supposed to be enforcing the law, and I'm not talking about the police, but those above the police face consequences for their own actions on not doing their job that they were hired for.
