Would the world be a better place without religion?
by micheal ini understand we all need guidance and some people need hope, even if it is not real.
but personally, i believe religion has caused so many hideous crimes against humanity that it is something we would all be better off without.. it really is too bad that religion has capitalized on humankind's need for a divine being to only abuse and control its fellow humans.. so, what do you think?
would we be better of without religion?.

MTV Road Rules has an ex-JW

) and i overheard the new person say she was raised a jw but when she got raped by a church member and nothing was done about it, she stopped going.
she said her parents split up and no longer go to meetings earlier.

Me believing in prayer or not doesn't have any representation on how I want other people to get better.
Hope and prayer are two seperate things. I hope I don't get into an accident on the way home. I hope people find a cure for cancer. I hope people with cancer get better.
I believe in the power of people doing things though. If I saw a baby drowning in a pool, I would dive in and save it. I wouldn't sit back and pray that someone saves it, because if I'm the only one there, the baby will die.
That statement was just like this:
Someone believes in lucky rabbit feet,then rubs the foot for good luck that his plane doesn't crash during the landing. Then asks me if I believe in the rabbit foot and I respond with a No, I don't think it has any outcome. Then gets mad at me thinking I want the plane to crash.

I do not believe in the power of prayer. Studies have scientifically proven that prayer will not have any effect on outcome. The only study that claimed it had and got any recognition is this one, but it turned out to be fraud.

I'm just waiting on transporter beams...Just think of the problems that would solve....
No more fights for oil rights. The US can get out of the Mid East because they will have no more interests there. The air would clean up because of less cars for transportation....

Elsewhere: She already showed her closed mindedness already. From what I heard, she complained the whole time. It actually reminded me of my Ex (who is still a dubbie) because she hated people for no reason and complained the whole time.

Yes of course, the only reason reality tv shows are sucessful is because satan backs them and its his world.
Those poor JWs are always unjustifiably persecuted.
