I love the fact that I can go snowboarding 2 hrs away, surfing 2.5 hrs away. Hiking in the woods 1 hr away, river rafting 30 min away and not need a passport for any of it.

I went through the same treatment as you did, but I ended up getting baptized before our marriage. All the shunning stopped as soon as I took the plunge, so that is the requirement, in my eyes, of their love. You need to be officially, one of them. It doesn't matter how many meetings you go to, as long as you took the dunk. I had horrible meeting attendance, but because i was baptized, i was one of them. Although, there were certain cliques I wasn't welcome in, the pioneer clique, the MS clique, but the general JWs were friendly.
Its a conditional love they have for people, and you never met their condition so sadly they missed out on you. Just remember, true friends love you because of how you are, not because of your beliefs.

When the same outcome results from the same action, it doesn't matter what its called, its THE SAME THING!
THey only say that to make it sound better to worldlies. A person is shunned and out of the org if they take/give blood. Bottom line.
They just try to sugar coat it to make it sound less offensive, and probably to avoid lawsuits

My story...

it all began during the gulf war early in january 1991. i was concerned about the war becoming the end of the world and naturally, because of my lifestyle, i began asking myself what i intended to do with my life.
a pioneer sister worked in the office where i worked, i knew she was a witness and studied the bible so i asked her opinion on what was happening.

i was wondering if you have a response when you present stuff about pedo, un, rutherford, etc, and a jw says, "well they are imperfect people.. the last respons i got was, only jesus was ever the perfect channel of god - which of course i agree.. but it's like if you ever bring up anything about anything, the stock response is, "we'll it's an imperfect organization.... your response???.

I was told not to shatter someones hopes and dreams. It is something that can't be answered and If I come around with facts/figures/proofs on how JWs are wrong, people will get all upset and not know where to turn.
My response was "You preach what you believe, why can't I preach what I believe?"
Their response to me was "You don't give them anything to believe in, you just tear down what they believe and leave them helpless"
My response: "When I point out a false believe, I always show what is IMHO true. I do replace it with something. You may not accept it because it is not 'spiritual'"
You just can't argue with a dub...

they have "bleeped" quite a few people's comments to simon, after the performed and he blasted them.

I was asleep during most of it, thanks to nyquil, but from what I heard it was F#$King helarious. I remember, albeit faintly, this one singer who was tone def and everyone told him he was then he got mad at the judges saying they can't sing either. He told them to be nice about it and the judges just said how horrible he was. He got all irate and started throwing his arms in the air. It was pretty funny, because its not me.
Although with that much money and publicity on the line, I think that these people are actors and professionals who are trying to suck, just so Simon can rip into them. I get the same feeling from that 15 seconds to fame show, where there were these horrible acts just for the sake of being horrible. Nobody would watch it if simon didn't rip into people, so they have to have horrible singers.

I liked Rygar (got excited when I saw a sequal for the PS2) Metal Gear, dragon warrior (any rpg for NES)
Also, for atari I loved joust breakout and pacman, frogger, missle command, space invaders, pitfall.
Anyone remember smurfs on collicovision? (Sp?) That game rocked!
