My last was a COs talk about what youths should do with their lives. Dude was boasting that he had no higher education. Intact he knows no prominent brothers who'd had higher education. You don't look for employment with a company that is going out of business. I was sitting in the front row. It was either scream something at him or walk out. Left halfway through never to go back. I attended the DC later and walked out when that talk came on. It was 2010 I think.

SkyGreen is no longer one of Jehovahs Witnesses... Why?
by SkyGreen inwow it felt good to type that heading, if only it were officially true!.
i guess i dont want to dwell on "ttatt" too much, though i am now an inactive jw now, and will be forever, i dont want to be defined by that.
but i will certainly keep an eye on this forum, contribute where i feel i can, and i must say thankyou to those who moderate it and keep it running.

Another look at how the WBTS uses half truths to push garbage.
by Defianttruth inhttp://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/102013047 .
wow talk about a way to push your garbage.
i can see it now the wbts is going to start taking their web pages down when people with open minds start picking apart what they write and openly publish for all to have this is only going to get better.

I hope he's aware of the witness stance on higher education.

How Much Did You Actually Study the Bible as a JW?
by Ding inthe wts says that people should read the bible daily, but did you really do that as a jw?.
or were you kept so busy reading wt literature, attending meetings, and going door to door, that you basically had little time for the bible itself?.
also, doesn't the wts teach that no one can understand the bible without "the slave" to teach its true meaning?.

My family read 2 to 3 chapters of the Bible every morning before the daily text. That lead me how fight withmy mom on the way back from meeting when I heard something which wasn't supported by the Bible eg discouraging higher education, marriage to non witnesses etc.
From example from bible reading we learned that Jacob, David, Samson, Ruth, rahab's husband, Esther, Lois, Eunice the list is endless. All the above married non isrealites. That's stuff that preteen me, learned from bible readings and used to battle out with mybmom. I'm glad I'm out.

recently i was thinking about the prayers i used to say while i was a witness.. .

Personally I have come to realize witnesses don't know how to pray. How can the GB neglect such an important aspect of worship? I want to think it's because they don't know how to pray. Do you all know there is an art and science of praying? It is found in the Bible and has nothing whatsoever to do with religion.

Your earliest doubt?
by Apognophos inthis might be an unfair question for those who have been out of the organization for decades, but i'm wondering if any of you remember your earliest doubt -- maybe something odd that occurred to you as a kid (if you were a jw then).
please try to limit to two doubts at the most :-).
i think my first "doubt" was simply realizing that at the time of the flood, every animal that wasn't in the ark died (well, besides the fish, supposedly).

my first doubts were on higher education. i was about 12. Talk given by a C.O. I remember fighting with my mom all the way home Every morning before the days text we did our family bible reading, so by that time we'd covered the time many times. I reasoned that if God reallycondemned higher education we would have run into it at least once in our bible reading. Then the creation story, noah, jonah etc.
