weve been planning to go for the last few years so she knows about the trip.
i decided that since im going to be in italy for a month and since i sit at a desk on my computer for 8 hours a day, i might as well spend that time productively and learn some italian.

In 2 years I’m surprising my wife for our 20 th with a 2 nd marriage in Italy. We’ve been planning to go for the last few years so she knows about the trip. I decided that since I’m going to be in Italy for a month and since I sit at a desk on my computer for 8 hours a day, I might as well spend that time productively and learn some Italian. I’m getting pretty good at it for a newbie and use it when I can around the house. My in In-laws came to visit a few weeks ago and when my wife told them I was learning Italian they laughed for a long time. I had to think about this through JW Armageddon colored glasses to figure out why they thought this was so strange. These are the reasons I thought up based solely on their reactions:
1 Why bother? It could end by the time your vacation comes, so why waste your time.
2 Knowledge is pointless. They only read from one publishing company yet think they have all the answers.
3 There’s plenty of time in the New System to learn so why better yourself now. They talk often of all the great things they will do in that reality yet don’t prepare for anything in this one.

3 rd generation born-in here. Out of my Immediate family of 5, 0 are in. Out of my extended family blood relatives only of 25, not including my wife’s side, 5 are still in. The 5 that are still in are all over 50. 1 recently returned after 20 years of hardcore addiction.

How would you feel if your coworkers pooled in on Powerball lottery tickets and won, and you didn't participate?
by Theocratic Sedition ini just recieved an email stating that the folks here won $8.00 over the weekend.
so they're going to use the money to procure more tickets and i believe the jackpot is up to like $260 million or some other crazy figure.
i never participate and i absolutely enjoy watching them waste their money on tickets with a smug haughtiness that only an active jw can muster.

i was 'in' solo for years while living with my unbelieving family and i know how it feels to be the only one in your house going to the meeting.
i also respect my husband's decision, and know what it's like to have family try to tear down your beliefs.

Pick up a foreign language! Get a NWT or download other pubs. in a language you'd like to learn and follow along. I learned Spanish when I was a kid and everyone around me just thought I was very diligent in looking up the scriptures.

There's this girl...
by noonehome inquick back-story: i'm pretty young...old enough to go to war but too young to buy a beer (if i were in the states..maybe i am maybe i'm not...) compredo?
so i've had allot of doubts, but figured it was a fault in myself until my best friend left a year ago and has since been labeled apostate.
i've never shunned him, in fact, i still see him a few times a month in secret.

Some of the strongest witnesses I’ve ever known were created by their own doubts of being a witness. Since the outside world is made to be so big and scary the only way some people can look past the elephant in the room is just to protest harder against the facts. She obviously has a longer road than you do to travel. Just be careful and give it time.
