Where To By Crisis of Conscience
by binadub inmaybe this information has surfaced here before, but if so it is worth repeating periodically:.
a couple weeks ago i was shocked after doing a google search for crisis of conscience when it brought up amazon with four distributors selling the book in soft-cover for collector prices between $169.95 us to over $650, with only 4 copies available.
hard cover was not available new, and used copies were being sold for over $50-75.

As a JW, how did you feel about shunning?
by jwfacts ini am interested in the answers for a new poll.
also, feel free to suggest other options, wording etc.agreed in full with the watchtower guidelinesagreed with shunning in general, but not for familywas stumbled by this practice but shunned as instructeddid not agree with the practice and secretly associated with disfellowshipped people .
for me personally, i did not agree with the practice and secretly associated with disfellowshipped people, even whilst at bethel.

My first two experiences was at age 14. Couldn't shun first sister. I found her in labor at circuit assembly at out of way restroom. I couldn,t ignore her so took her 4 year old and he and I found her mother to go help her. Samee year teenage friend got pregnant (by CO son) we were told from elders to shun her and not to touch the newborn because she was unclean. Seemed a hateful way to treat someone who was treated so nasitly. (CO son never disfellowshipped.) That started me young to see how unlovîng disfellowshipping was. Also how unfair the elders could be.

Not sure what to do next
by magotan ini'm 19, and i'm still currently a jw.
i guess i'm a born-in, or whatever you guys call it.
i've had some serious issues with the faith at the moment, and sexuality is a huge part.

my son is gay. Some JW parents handle it better than you mught think. It is hard on all parents when a child comes outnbut for me it was because I knew it was going to be hard on my son. I chose him when he was dfed because I had to believe family is more important than "loving Shunning" that the organization pushs. I have spoken with other JW gays thru my son. They all have said it is the way they are born not a life choice. You will find others who support you here. Wishing you love and support.

Marriage is full of doubts in or out of the WTBTS. There is times we all must put more effort into our marriage. There will always be trials but put extra effort into the relationship when it is at the low and often we can grow oour relarionship. I speak as one who has been in my marriage for 45 years. May this only be one of the trying times.

Jehovah's Witnesses and Divorce
by Eustace ini really hate divorce.
it was my parents getting divorced that helped messed up my childhood.. part of why i came to conclude the jehovah's witnesses don't have the "spiritual paradise" they claim to is how many of their marriages end up in divorce.my parents i could dismiss as an exception to a general rule, but i could never understand how often it seemed to keep happening to lots of different people when the watchtower society teaches that divorce is wrong except in case of adultery.. but what really brought things home for me was this study by the pewforum on religion survey showing that even though jehovah's witness are less likely to be married than the general population, they're more likely to be divorced or separated.. http://religions.pewforum.org/.
they really have a nerve telling people in the jehovah's witnesses religion that they shouldn't have sex outside of marriage when they've done so little to protect jws who get married, and their children, from the extreme stress and conflict of divorce.. it's really messed up.. heck, even the catholics they're are always dumping on have a lower divorce/separation rate than the jws.. jw divorced/separated = 14%.

My close XJW friend and I started thinking on all the JWs couples we grew up with in the 60s. We counted about 30 couples we knew who was married. Of these couples 4 couples are still together one divorced and remarried and my friend and I are long time faders still with our husbands and one who is still with her Elder husband all others from this time period divorced some more than one divorce.
