Confusedandalone sounds like you had a awsome evening. I have a question for you, you mentioned your daughter is 9, I'm sure she had the time of her life but did she have any quesions or guilt feelings from trick and treating, Your son being younger probably wouldn't question it but just love his new experience. I wishing you and your family many fun and great new experiences in your new life.

Our first Halloween was amazing
by confusedandalone innot sure if this is the right forum, if not i apologize.. last night was our first halloween.
i have to admit, the very idea that somehow it is satanic and that it makes bible god cry seemed immensely foolish as we prepared for it.
my daughter was dressed as an undead witch and my son was dressed as thomas the tank engine.

SFPW since when is it the responsibilty for "worldly" people tp approach JWs. 50s and 60s we were taught when street witnessing it was our "JWs" responsibility to approach others and to share our "Good News".

Irony: JWs who refuse to answer their door on Halloween!
by adamah inwith halloween fast approaching, it struck me looking back how ironic it was when the worm turned every year on halloween, when jws turn off the porch light, draw the curtains, stumble around in the dark, etc.
when the worldlies come to knock on their door, lol!.
on the other hand, i remember the family escaping from the fortress at dusk to go to a movie, bowling, etc.

Then we always took the kids to dinner and movies or minature golfing. now stay home and give the kids candy with enjoyment seeing all the fun costumes, at 65 I never had a chance to dress in a costume to trick or treat.

Do You Think Many Engaged JW Couples Fooled Around B4 Marriage?
by minimus inwhen i was an elder, i had a few couples approach me to confess that they either played around or went all the way.. i suspect there were many more that did not admit to it, though..

Stands for Pure Worship--and thats why the majority of the young JWs of 80s and 90s are now divorced. Not the best way to honestly to get know your future spouse. I pleaded with my son not too marry a girl he wasn't ever alone with, and I was sadly proven right. I am no longer around any from the 2000s to know how their marriages are working out.

A mole within the FDS!
by braincleaned init has been now verified that there was a traitor within the gb!.
an insider had the courage and audacity to verify this, taking the risk of being kicked out of bethel, with a cross carved on his forehead.. it became apparent that all the men of the gb where naturally bald, even when some tried to hide it with a clever and stylistic comb-over.
but there was some suspicion that pierce and losch were not true bald men.

Progress made with dad... but he still believes in the blood doctrine
by ILoveTTATT inso.... my spiritual journey has led me to agnosticism, i really have a hard time believing that the bible, with so many contradictions and errors, and worse, with so many people trying to change its contents and who have actually achieved it, can be god's word.. i personally believe that i should just "do what i do" and live by the motto "yolo" (kidding).... no but really, i believe that i should just try to use my common sense to determine if something is right or if it is wrong.
with that, many things are simplified.
opening the door for someone that walks by?

Be patient I walked away from JWs 25 years ago and I only started to doubt the blood ban in the last 2 years. It often takes a family crisis to rethink your beliefs that are so deeply ingrained in your thinking.
