Can you be disfellowshipped for taking a yoga class?
by TweetieBird ini was just wondering since i've started taking a yoga class.
not that i would mind being df'd but not ready to lose the family.
i lost my wt library cd so i don't have access to the society's stand on yoga.

Rebel8, yes I am still attending meetings unfortunately. I haven't told anyone about my yoga classes, and don't intend to. I told my kids not to let anyone know either. They think it's stupid that I have to hide it, one kid is a believing JW even though he's still not baptized (19 years old). As I said earlier, I'm almost to the point where I could really give a flip, the only thing that keeps me from not wanting to get df'd is there are some family members that it would kill. My kids however, would still associate with me regardless and that is really all that matters.

Something funny I heard on Howard Stern
by TweetieBird ini was listening to howard stern this morning and robin mentioned that someone approached her with the watchtower.
she told the jw that she was not interested, he asked her if she had ever read the watchtower.
she said yes, he asked her what she thought about it and i loved her reply...she said that she thought that she never wanted to read another one.

Disfellowshipping in absentia policy from "Organized to do Jehovah's Will"
by truthseeker inthis is the new disfellowshipping policy from the "organized to do jehovah's will" book.
this book is now the replacement for the old "organized to accomplish our ministry" book, released in 1983. .
chapter 14: maintaining the peace and cleaness of the congregation .

The only real change that I could see in the new book is that now when someone is disfellowshipped or disassociated the announcement will read, "so-in-so is no longer one of Jehovah's witnesses"

I will find out on Thursday nite. At the meeting yesterday, they said to be sure and be at meeting Thursday night as new blood information to be distributed. They did not use the term blood card, can't remember exactly what they said as I tend not to pay attention. I will let you know. TB

New KM, With New Procedures!
by Doubtfully Yours inin the newest kingdom ministry publication comes the information of how they're combining the 'no blood' card and the 'health proxy' document into only one card.. the card will have pertinent information according to the region where the person lives.
publishers will only need to change this card if personal information changes, otherwise one can keep the card forever instead of the nonsense of having to fill one out at the beginning of each year.. the wtbts sure is simplifying matters as time goes by.
good!!!

the united nation scandal and all other Watchtower Society scandals
by booker-t ini was recently talking to a jw elder at my job that i have been working at for over 20 years(he knows that i am da'ed but still talks to me trying to get me to come back) and i brought up the un scandal and all of the wts scandals that are hitting the wts.
he said it does not surprise him that "apostates" would try and deceive many jw's with lies and 1/2 truths.
i told him that i can get a printed copy of the un ngo membership and that the wts was a member for over 10 years.

Booker,
Ask your elder friend this question, please...
If there was nothing wrong with the WTS being affiliated with the UN for a library card, then why did they quickly disassociate themselves as soon as it was found out? I can't seem to get any logical thinking witness to answer that one.

For our friends in Florida- BE SAFE
by xenawarrior inplease be careful and know that our thoughts are with you !
it's awful that this is happening again so soon after the last hurricane just a few weeks ago.
sending positive thoughts to the south and hoping frances is not as bad as they are expecting it to be.

Thanks. We are pretty well prepared. We will board up our windows tomorrow, have plenty of water, a generator, etc. We are north of the predicted eye but we will definitely get hurricane force winds of about 90 miles an hour. Our house made it through Charley with only a few trees leaning, I feel pretty confident it will be okay, unless Frances decides to go north before making landfall.
