I got the same email and was totally pissed by the paragraph you highlighted. How utterly stupid. If that is the case then the approximately 100 JW's that have died were apparently not following Jehovah's standards.

An old friend of mine was deleted as an elder... you're gonna love why!
by JimmyPage init seems my friend stepped in to help his daughter out of an abusive relationship with her boyfriend.
the crime?
his daughter is disfellowshipped.

Bottom line: If the other elders on the body want someone deleted-they can pretty much find a reason to have it done.

Should a Christian see the movie "AVATAR"?
by skeeter1 ini give the movie a 6.5 score.
the scenery was wonderful, but the plot was not zipped up well.
it sort of follows the story-line of "dances with wolves", but in space.. .

Anybody Know What Presiding Overseer's are Being Told at Bethel School ?
by flipper ini guess there is a special training school going on for presiding overseers according to my jw mom.
my elder brother went back there for a week training session .
he explained that they are doing this training first in the united states only for presiding overseers and if it works out well - they'll implement it across the world in other countries.. apparently he stated that the training they are getting is very detailed and to the point.

Received a call this evening from a family member about this very subject. Apparently her PO just returned from Bethel and she wanted to let me know the highlights of his trip.
1) We are very close to the end now (that's a new one).
2) Don't be surprised if the government steps in and closes Bethel and the kingdom halls - so important to stay close to family.

There was an elder in my old hall, gave the public talk and a week later told his wife and daughter that he had been having an affair. Got df'd a couple of weeks later, divorced his wife and I haven't seen him since. Last I heard, he was living with his mistress. Who knows, maybe he posts on here.

Welcome notewe. Adjusting to life outside of the WTS takes some time, especially if you were raised in it and everyone you ever knew is a JW. Where do you call home? Hopefully there is someone on this board nearby.

Question about disfellowshipping/disassociation
by TweetieBird inif someone sends an email or text to an elder telling them that they are involved in a wrongdoing and not planning on stopping and then does not respond to reply emails or text messages from that elder, what will happen?
can the elders announce at a meeting that so and so is no longer a jw or do they have to inform them first?
i have a friend that did this and 2 elders came by her work to see her but she wasn't there, then they tried to call her at work but she told her co-workers to tell them that she was in a meeting.

She doesn't care either way, she's done with all of it. Mainly just curious.

Update- it appears that they have not made any announcements, which is strange because all of the texts and emails were sent over a month ago. Is it possible that they will just leave her alone since she's not going to any meetings and not associating with any JW's?

In this case, she first told an elder of the wrongdoing (sort of) then got texts from him and another elder, also got an email and sent reply texts and emails back so at least 2 different elders got the same information, just at different times. They wanted to meet with her but she didn't want to be submitted to an interrogation since she has no intention of changing courses at this time, probably never. Fortunately she is the only person in her family that was a JW and has only a handful of close friends that are so for her to walk away was not a big deal. I told her that I would never shun her so she is okay with the whole thing. She was just wondering if they announced her and since I haven't been to the KH in months I have no idea.
