a question that has haunted all of jws is that; if the society is not the fds, then who is?
this is not only a question, but it is also an answer, an answer that most all jws would respond when someone points to them some of the society's problematic teachings or behaviour.. this topic has been dealt with on a number of occasions on this board and on others with very sound arguments that refuted the society's interpretation and application of jesus' parable.. while i was doing few chores at home this afternoon, i wondered on a couple of thoughts on this subject:.

Interesting point...and my answer is when they die, they will not know that they didn't live on. However, if the Christians are right, then when the athiests die, they will know that they were wrong.

i really thought that the exposure of the wts's involvement would open the door for me to walk away from the wt without reprucussions, you know, a valid excuse so as to not be shunned.

yo yo, don't you mean it was exposed by apostates to show how dishonest it is. I don't care how loyal you think you are to the organization, wrong is wrong. You cannot condemn something for decades and then jump in bed with it, whatever lame excuse you might want to come up with.
Let me ask you this. Assuming that at one time Jehovah actually DID use an organization as his mediator for mankind as he did the Israelites, what's to stop him from divorcing himself from them for acts that go contrary to what is right?
All of my life I heard that when a congregation was not progressing, it was because Jehovah removed his spirit from it, all because some bozo had a secret sin, such as the PO having an adulterous affair with a sister in the congregation. If that is true, what's to keep him from removing his spirit from the GB (or the entire organization) for committing adultery with the UN?
It's the same principle. In the case of a congregation, everyone suffers over the act of one brother. The whole organizaion could suffer because of the one act by the GB member that applied for and signed the application to become a member of the UN.
Honestly, do you not see any similarities between the GB of today and the scribes and pharisees of Jesus' day? I certainly did several years ago when I was a loyal dub, before I ever thought of looking on a website considered "apostate."
i've been thinking about the change in this doctrine and i'm not sure i fully understand it.

But, nobody in my area, that I know of, even heard about it. None of my family members, or close friends. I tried to mention it to a couple of "spiritually weak" family members but they didn't want to hear about it.
Is anyone else disappointed that nothing more came of it?
Can someone please find a new scandal? I keep hoping Dateline will air soon, but the pessimist in me thinks it won't have much of an impact either. I mean, lets face it...if the WTS can cover over the UN thing, which IMHO was a biggie, there's not much else that could bring them down. Please somebody, convince me that I'm wrong about this. I don't know how much longer I can keep playing the game.

As a good little dub, I always trained my mind not to think negatively about such things. But one thing that did bother me when I was young was the fact that my next door neighbor, who was my best friend at the time, would die at Armageddon, just because she was not a JW. That puzzled me even as an adult until I read "Crisis of Conscience" then I recognized it as a scare tactic to keep people in line.
