Disappointment

  A couple of months ago I was addicted to this board when the whole UN thing was going on. I really thought that the exposure of the WTS's involvement would open the door for me to walk away from the WT without reprucussions, you know, a valid excuse so as to not be shunned. (A pipe dream, I know)

  But, nobody in my area, that I know of, even heard about it. None of my family members, or close friends. I tried to mention it to a couple of "spiritually weak" family members but they didn't want to hear about it.

  Is anyone else disappointed that nothing more came of it?

  Can someone please find a new scandal? I keep hoping Dateline will air soon, but the pessimist in me thinks it won't have much of an impact either. I mean, lets face it...if the WTS can cover over the UN thing, which IMHO was a biggie, there's not much else that could bring them down. Please somebody, convince me that I'm wrong about this. I don't know how much longer I can keep playing the game.

  Be patient Tweetie Bird. Be patient. Just keep in mind that one little tiny acorn can become a huge, strong, unbreakable oak tree. But it takes time to get to that point. It will take time for this information to filter to the rank and file.

  Another thing to keep in mind...it will take a lot more than the UN issue to make the WTS crumble. A LOT MORE. This is a strong organization with millions of blind followers. We can only hope to plant seeds of doubt at this point. Time will make those seeds grow. My personal opinion is that this organization will never crumble like a house of cards. It will only be torn down, brick by brick, member by member. It will be slow process.

  i thought the UN thing would be a really big deal - especially to some of my "lukewarm" friends. The one girl instantly started thinking up excuses for the WTS. It is very hard to get any points across to people who don't want to see it. I'm not disappointed though - at least I know the truth.

  If your agenda is to see the end of the WTBTS, it won't come in your lifetime. If you want to make a change in your life by leaving, then go ahead and do so. Forget about the WT crumbling; it won't happen any time soon. Assuming the Dateline programme ever aired, it will not touch 99.9% of Witnesses in any fundamental way; in fact the congregations will very likely receive orders to put members on guard not to watch it - and most will obey.

  Hey teetie,WBTS is a closed society.No information go`s in,no information go`s out without their stamp of approval.Not many Jws have heard of the UN thing because their publishing company god didn`t tell them.Very few will listen to anyone else.Billygoat is right this will be a slow process.This is a brick by brick deal.They are slowley comeing down,but it will take time...OUTLAW

  so you dont have to make a personal choice...forget it.
  You have to make a choice yourself whether you can stay in there
  without puking or whether for your own sanities sake you have to walk away.
  And if you walk you have to suffer the consequences.

  Tweetie, can you move to another state and start again? That's how I got away from the whole mess. It's a bad time economically, but I have always been able to survive on temporary jobs until something else came along.
