Maximus (no longer posts here) and my dad knew each other well, I used to be in the same congregation as Ohio Cowboy and my brother used to post here.

Did a current or ex-JW help you to awaken?
by TweetieBird inwas there something that was said to you that got the wheel turning in your brain, that caused you to start waking up to ttatt, either by a jw or ex-jw that you didn't know was awake?
i'm trying to think of things i can say or ask of my current family members still in that may help them to start seeing the real truth about the organization.
they think we're still in..

My Reverse-Shunning Letter To My Mother
by pale.emperor ini mailed the below letter to my mother a few weeks ago.
i did share it on the ex-jw facebook group but thought i'd post it here.. basically, she's shunned me since day 1, has little or nothing to do with my 3yo daughter and told my sister "i hope <my daughter> becomes a jw when she's older so i can welcome her into the family".
well, that was the last straw for me..

Great letter. I was just thinking about this last night and fantasizing what it would be like to write my family members a letter but with a little different slant. I would like to shun them until they come out of "Babylon the Great", lol.
Every family has their own dynamic features, I personally would be available to any of my family members that started to wake up. I sort of shunned my "apostate brother" for years but when I started having doubts he was the only one I could talk to, which really helped. Now we have a great relationship!
So glad you are doing well. It's a process to recover but worth it.

New Here
by Red.tomato inhi everyone, this is my first post .. it takes a little bit of courage to do it, i have to admit and even thought i have been lurking for some time as time goes by it gets more and more difficult to keep attending meetings and just been around the friends in the congregation.
ever since i learned about the arc something inside of me just broke and it feels pretty hollow, now i pay attention to every single form of manipulation in every direction, what difference it makes with the catholic church or with any other religions ?
i wonder why the publishers are under obligation to report about their lives and decisions to the elders but they don´t keep informed the congregation about what´s going on legally other than russia.

by TweetieBird ini post here off and on and go months, sometimes years without even thinking about jw's but recently started watching some youtube videos and have especially enjoyed the ones by eric.
i noticed that there have not been any recent ones and also that his website doesn't have anything new on it for a while.

I'm sure that he is and wasn't implying otherwise, just curious why he doesn't post any more videos. I would love to see updates on some of the people he interviewed.

I also noticed that there was a gofundme to raise money for his divorce transcript and the money was raised but I don't see the transcript anywhere.

Is this the best you have to offer. Trump / Clinton?
by Lostandfound inhere in uk we have appalling choice between cameron / corby and some also rans.
are trump/clinton best the worlds superpower can offer up?
all candidates for office seem to be flawed , are no genuine people putting themselves forward?

There will be other candidates on the ballot besides Clinton and Trump. It might be time for a Libertarian (Gary Johnson) to have a go at it, that's who I will be voting for.

My thoughts on the shunning part at the convention
by stuckinamovement inthe wts has gone off the rails and is "unrepentantly" hateful.
they are blatantly requiring mothers and fathers to disown/hate their own children that they have loved and cared for since birth simply because they don't comply with the orgs demands.
how is this love?

will need alcohol to recover afterwords
Fill a water bottle with vodka for during the convention. Nobody will be the wiser.

I really thought that the organization would take a softer view of inactive ones, i.e. encouraging them to come back to the meetings.
Anxious to see how my JW relatives treat us going forward. Even though we have not committed any disfellowshipping offense, I'm sure they will assume that we have since we don't go to meetings. Time will tell.
