  Cart encounters this weekend.

  on weekend mornings i like to take my dog for a long walk at a nearby lake.

  recently there's been some cultists and a propaganda cart posted up along my walking path.

  until today i've ignored them.

  Flashback: Samuel Herd/Ashland Avenue Chicago

  must have been mid to late 1970s.. it was when they still published the speakers' names on the light-blue circuit assembly programs.. i was a child sitting in the audience at ashland avenue's circuit assembly venue.

  i loved that place with it's own basement cafeteria and baptism pool with a big jesus getting baptized mural behind it.. samuel herd was giving the talk.

  my child self could only remember my father pointing him out on the program.

  I went to Ashland Ave in Chicago from 1980 to 1988...it was replaced with Romeoville, and I remember my first CA in it in Feb 1989.

  I also remember Sam Herd was the DO in the early 80s. Remember going to Hawthorne for those?

  I think it would also depend how 'important' you are socially, etc. If you're like me, I have no family or friends in my now 14+ year new home location.

  Seeing as I've not gone to a meeting in over a year and a half, no one has bothered with me.

  A weird nut funny voice in the JW dramas

  many who have been a jw since the 70- 80s remember the jw dramas coming out yearly.. today they are movies but to the topic.... many of the voice actors are the same.. one however is plain odd.. lets list his roles as i remember:.

  the exodus drama: janes.

  gideon drama: an anger worshiper of baal.

  I believe the Lot drama was around 1988. I remember it at the then District convention. My mom even thought it was weird, and I just kinda laughed.

  That dude with that voice was kinda like the "larger-than-life" bad guy...

  Just looking at this guy makes me sick. Yeah, I saw that portion of the wonderful broadcast. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the higher-ups were/are involved in abuse in some form or another.

  This guy is a piece of shit! Along with his bosses. Hope they're reading this site too...

  Realizing that the people in this organization don't give a crap about you if you're not connected. So much for a "loving, wonderful organization". That is bull. Also not "the happiest people in the world", either.

  Two months after I stopped going to the KH, my depression went a way. Go figure.

  I met him in 2005 at a district conv; bumped into him after about an hour after the progam was over. Talked to him for a few minutes; didn't notice anything unusual at that time. He sure has changed.
