Once you discover how things really are and try to HELP people to see it too you are labeled as an 'apostate', the elders hunt you down to enforce the rules of their imagined utopia.

The Internet Proves JWs Are a Joke Now
by jw07 ini'm a born in, born in the 1980s and old enough to remember studying beefy (albeit full of crap) material like the the evolution book and revelation book (which we studied over and over and over and over).
books and brochures were wordy and chock full of legalistic language explaining away teachings and policies, some explanations slightly above the iq of the average person.. watchtower studies were longer (30 paragraphs sometimes), talks were longer and thus meetings were longer, pioneering was harder (70 hours if i remember correctly), assemblies and conventions were longer, and there were intricate food provisions to feed thousands of people (for a cost of course).. the average jw could recite watchtower propaganda for hours to indoctrinate others or defend their faith.
jws were interested in having meaty discussions at the door and challenging even pastors on doctrinal points.. i know this has been said many times, but the organization has gone through a massive dumbing down.. i can't figure out if it's due to the oblivious nature of the current governing body, a premeditated attempt by them at dumbing down the organization, or just the effects of life becoming easier around the globe due to reliance on technology.. i can only speak on my era, and i know that from the early 90s until around 2004 the organization was allot more doctrine savy.. over the past decade or so i'd say the collective iq of the followers has moved from 105 to 85.. indoctrination and blind belief has allot to do with being prone to be emotionally manipulated, but thinking ability has a say in that too.. social media is a decent gauge of how and what the average person within a certain demographic is thinking, and doing a simple hashtag search on twitter, instagram, or facebook reveals allot about how the current generation of young jws (15-28 or thereabout) are thinking.. many have become self obsessed, internet obsessed, hubris filled and passive, i can see an even bigger decline in growth over the next 5 years.. take a look:.

Instagram - search hashtag #jwboys (JW males showing off themselves online)

It's All About Tablets
by metatron inwell, that seems to be the latest hot thing amoung witnesses.
everybody buys a tablet.
even the poor families that eat carb heavy meals are gettin' em.. maybe they can't afford the latest apple product like the maxi/mini pad or whatever they're calling it these days so a trip to ebay or overstock.com fills the bill.. use it instead of a songbook.

@newdawnfades that's what I think about all the time. One contradictary statement after another and JWs just can't see it.

weird: passing around literature fragments in prison
by Magnum ini dont have any specific references, but over the years i remember reading in the mags and hearing in talks stories of imprisoned jws who would somehow get a piece of a page of a jw magazine or an article or something like that and pass it around and get spiritually nourished by it as if it almost had a magical or supernatural nature.
does anybody else remember such?.
i always thought it just didnt make sense.

What the f**k?????????????????????????????????????? This is the most blatant attempt at fearmongering that I've seen the Watchtower engage in during my lifetime.
What I find wrong with this peice of propaganda:
1. They're too fleshy, come on...during hard times people will be starving and thin as hell.
2. Clothes and skin too clean: these are supposedly the worst times that humans have ever been through, who says there will be water.
3. If times are that rough won't it be common to be sporting a beard ranging from rough stubble to Taliban level facial hair? Being clean shaven may be much harder, and being clean shaven will probably alert onlookers that you have access to resources that could make their lives easier. In other words you will become a target.
4. Where are the ak-47s? Praying won't stop robberies, shootings, and rapes when SHTF.
5. Electricity as evidenced by the light bulbs. It's the damn great tribulation. What's to guarantee that there will be electricity in homes. If not diesel generators are noisey, solar panels will be visible from outside, not much hiding there.
6. Meetings = infection risk centers. In times of societal collapse; disaster zones, war zones (see the polio outbreak in Syria) there is often outbreak of disease and gatherings are discouraged / prohibted.
PS: Are they appealing to preppers now?
