Would the discovery of EXTRATERRESTRIAL LIFE completely debunk the bible and religion?

i think it would.

instantly.

in fact, i hope one day soon that we somehow encounter extraterrestrial life because i think there would be a wholesale rejection of the bible and any/all religious institutions.

It would for the thinkers and fence sitters. Many religious people would start finding other explanations to continue believing. JWs for instance may say it's part of the 'new scrolls being opened' teaching coming to pass.

If we merely observe extraterrestrial life without contact, or if the contact is 'friendly' then they may start teaching that it was just humans who sinned, and that the aliens still have a direct relationship with Jehovah, and that asking them questions (if we could communicate with them) would be rejecting our faith in the ransom arrangement.

They could also just come out and say that these life forms are just demons, or put there by Satan.

The Bible says: "You are sons of Jehovah your God. Do not cut yourselves or shave your foreheads bald for a dead person. 2 For you are a holy people to Jehovah your God, and Jehovah has chosen you to become his people, his special property, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. — Deuteronomy 14: 1, 2

In previous years some believers unfortunately went ahead with a hardline interpretation of Deuteronomy 14:1. They went as far as to decide that all tattoo markings were wrong, even ones encouraged by God's spirit directed organization! In recent time the faithful and discrete slave has recognized that Deuteronomy 14:2 holds the key to us understanding the previous verse. Who are God's people today? It is evident that they are none other than Jehovah's Witnesses! How are God's people recognized today? Clearly, by the insignia JW.org, it is the identifying mark of all true Christians today!

Some may still seek to argue that this explanation is not enough to prove the need for getting tattooed with God's insignia. However, consider the loving provision that Jehovah God made for Abraham and his household at Genesis 17: 9-14. Abraham and all those who happened to live in his house were to have their foreskins brutally ripped away forever so that they could prove their love for God by being branded in this way!

It is vital for us to follow directives that come to psychically altering our bodies to show our love for God. Note that those who disobeyed that directive would be out to death "that person must be cut off from his people" — Deuteronomy 9:14

Now that we have considered what the Bible clearly teaches do you not now consider that being tattooed in the forehead with JW.org is a loving provision? Not only will this arrangement serve as an identifying mark for overseers and appointed men to identify you as one of their sheep, but for the congregation as well, and most importantly our heavenly father Jehovah who is looking at your JW.org tattoo in secret!

Fun at The WT This Morning

so ofs was at the wt this morning, and on par.

14 the question was, "what trust can a faithful christian whose relative is disfellowshipped have?".

after awhile when no one else raised their hands ofs did, and was called on.. ofs commented, "one of jw can have the trust that god will lovingly give them the ability to uphold the disfellowshipping arrangement by totally shunning family members.".

I literally laughed out loud as I read. Using their own material against them is a sure way to get them thinking without trying to shut you down with strawman arguments. I mean, who dare question the 'slave'?

with the roll out of watchtower 2.0 aka jw.org the corporation has been going to great lengths to bring the wacky doctrine that it has been preaching for decades to vivid reality.

they have been painstakingly staging not only bible fables with heavy prop use and post production, but are trying to bring to life their projected future for mankind.. more recently they have been trying to play on the fears that people have of scenarios such as martial law unfolding and integrating their great tribulation doctrine mumbo jumbo in.. regardless of what you think (for instance whether there may be martial law declared due to terrorist activity or natural disaster, or if that idea is just too far fetched) this sort of thing has a much greater impact when people see people placed in these scenes.

as illogical as the great tribulation doctrine may be, jws will not only place themselves in these scenarios, but will have their anticipation for them to be over with cranked up.. .

The question is:

In 2020, then 2025, then 2030 when they look back and see magazines like the Oct 15th 2015 WT with these vivid scenes will it cause dissonance to skyrocket far greater than the text and crappy illustrations did in the past?

i guess the persecution is really kicking in if the electric company has shut off their electricity, or the jws are really, really paranoid that the government is gonna get them if they have the lights on!.

only one guy is smart enough to use his tablet (far right), the rest of the jws are old school, using a lantern to read their bibles in the dark!

If this is really during a time of societal collapse I sure hope they stocked knives, kevlar, Kalashnikovs with plently 5.56 rounds, pepper spray, cutlasses, .38 revolvers, Colt 45s, and Winchester rifles for close ranged door to door urban battles when Jehovah just won't strike dead those attacking looters and gang rapists because he doesn't exist

following jesus example, we must read the bible daily, study it, and meditate on what we learn.

along with general bible study, dig into topics about which you may have questions.. you can imitate jesus by meditating on the wonderful promises jehovah has made to you.
