Probably swimming in groupies while pushing the JW lie. I would not be surprised if he becomes a JW 'heavy' in the near future.

Elder Arrest Scaremongering
by jw07 inlast week there was a meeting with all the elders and ministerial servants about responsibility in the kingdom hall and blah blah blah.. one elder brought up a scenario where all the elders were arrested, and we were asked if the meeting would still go on, and how.. this is the second time within a month that i've heard that scenario posed by an elder in my congregation.. does anyone have any idea of the trash being fed to them in letters recently?.
is this a scenario that hq is putting out there, or are the fear mongering convention videos driving their imaginations wild?.

Major congregational quake in Southern California
by Hecce inthis notice is not official yet and it should be confidential until released thru the proper channels.
a friend of mine told me about a huge elders meeting in southern california.
the subject was the relocation and dissolution of some congregations; it seems that this is the result of some project that has been going on for some time and is going to be implemented right now.. please let me know if this is happening all over the country?.

@Ivebeenduped - I'm also in the Caribbean (Jamaica), and that info was also requested. The information was made into detailed maps made by congregations in central locations, and then shared to make one large map.
That was just prior to massive reassignments based on how close a person lived to a certain kingdom hall.
This happened around 4 years ago.

Ideas to discreetly identify the awoken among us
by Truthexplorer inok. i know this has been brought up in the past, but i have often wondered who in our halls are awake (for those of us who attend).
there are some i would consider a 'maybe', but no way of ever really knowing.. so here is my idea.
i hope it doesn't sound too masonic,.

Spray cologne / perfume in the hand you use to shake with. Scented hand after a shake may tell you that someone is awake...or probably they just had a little accident whilst getting ready.

Convention Distances: Jamaica
by jw07 infor the past few years conventions in eastern jamaica have been held at a cricket stadium, in the capital city, known as sabina park.
this venue is a central location for the bulk of the attendees who make it there from the capital kingston, as well as the adjoining areas of portmore and spanish town.
yeah, that's where jws are concentrated, as well as their non-jw friends, work mates and family who they coerce into attendance.

For the past few years conventions in eastern Jamaica have been held at a cricket stadium, in the capital city, known as Sabina Park. This venue is a central location for the bulk of the attendees who make it there from the capital Kingston, as well as the adjoining areas of Portmore and Spanish Town. Yeah, that's where JWs are concentrated, as well as their non-jw friends, work mates and family who they coerce into attendance. It's a bit of a drive from uptown Kingston, but still within reach for most persons, even by bus.
JW.org had a good thing going for many years. Everyone knew where that was, and were more likely consider making it there, or to the national stadium, where convention were held previously. However, the organization continues shooting itself in the foot when it comes to just about everything. In order to skip rental costs for Sabina Park, or the National Stadium, the decision has been made to use the cult compound (I mean assembly hall) located in Marlie Mount, Old Harbour, about an hour away (if you use the highway). This is a big deal in Jamaica, where gas prices are relatively high, and where the highway toll is expensive. Also most people don't give a damn about JWs locally, although will attend so that their JW acquaintances can stop pestering them.
This further distance will likely lessen attendance by the general public. I got some confirmation of this yesterday and today. I'm stuck in the org for now, so I was out in field circus yesterday, and today. I have never seen so much persons laugh at JWs in the ministry when we told them where the venue was.
"Old Harbour, are you serious?"
"Will you be buying my gas?"
"Why don't you guys have it in Kingston as usual?"
I had to try hard not to burst out in laughter as well. It's not just me. At the past two meetings it has been announced that we need to get people to "not concentrate on the distance, but on the message instead. Helping them to focus on the prospect of living forever instead of how long it will take them to reach to the convention".
I can't wait until persons who unwillingly show up see the cult indoctrination and pro-disfellowingshipping videos, and other crazy stuff.
The bottom line is that if nobody gives a damn about your cult convention, then they won't put out the extra effort to come. Unless that's what the org wants. I can't wait to see how many will not attend this year. It's logic.
Does anyone else have anything similar happening with their convention venues in recent years?

The last video in the 2016 convention...
by problemaddict 2 in...is an epic triumph is emotional manipulation.
bringing together all of the stories they told thus far and placing them int he "new world" complete with the little boy who was killed in a car accident coming back from the dead.. i have a good friend who is stuck in with family and plays the role.
he said everyone was crying, and the people next to him rated the videos by how many tissues they needed to dry their eyes.

This series of videos will BITE THEM IN THE ARSE!!!
In the past persons had to probably be attending meetings and, or reading their publications to decipher the true nature of their genocidal, apocalyptic, isolationist beliefs. Now we have crisp, clean, well lighted, high definition videos outlining those beliefs. Now the public can go on Youtube, Vimeo, Instagram, Facebook etc and instantly see the nutty crap they have been peddling!!!"

We all know that the Watchtower's doctrines have been loony from day one, and that the organization is increasingly a victim of bad publicity due to it adhering to those set of beliefs. However, with all the wackiness that has been playing out recently it makes me wonder if there are some awake persons with influence in PR / media operations trying to really turn the spotlight on the organization so as to wake up others / turn away potential recruits.
My reasoning is based on these crazy examples of video productions among many others in recent times:
The anti-masturbation video for deaf persons.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QReUbe4kp-o
As with everything presented to the public, I'm sure it was thoroughly vetted. At the upper levels of approval didn't anyone realize that the sign language gestures for masturbation used repeatedly in one video presentation could paint a negative impression?
The bunker video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wackkicmf4k
Literalism at it's finest. The problem for them is that we live in an age where the video's imagery paints the image of JWs as fanatical 'doomsday preppers'. I have nothing against persons being prepared for disasters, but there are extremists when it comes to everything, and the negative stereotype is who the public has in mind when it sees that kind of imagery. Not to mention Heaven's Gate, Jone's Town, and Waco as negative examples of what happens when cults physically congregate prepared for 'the end'. How many persons did this go through before it went to the GB to be approved? Have those persons been living in a complete media vacuum for the last 4 decades?
2016 Convention Shunning Propaganda Video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5LsyndC1mE
In the real world, when children who've left the house call parents out of the blue they are quick to answer, even if they have become estranged. It could be an emergency. In fact the child could have died and someone on the scene could be using their phone to call home. Attendees on the fence about what they are 'learning' will leave with a sour taste in their mouth after seeing this.
The Anti-Gay Kids Cartoon
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnk52bU92oE
We get that the WT is anti-gay, but didn't anyone realise that preaching that message so blatantly, especially to young ones would attract flak, especially in an era where the developed world has been moving towards tolerance and human rights? Hasn't anyone at HQ been paying attention to the negative press received by the Westboro Baptist Church for their openly anti-gay stance?
The Paradise Video (last video) - RC 2016https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d43EyGZTXL4
All of the imagery in this video screams cult. It's all too airy, and looks like a commercial for the new season of The Path. From the odd clothes, to the breathtaking nature vistas, to the fake smiles, to the music. The interesting thing about the music is:
They used the song "Eternal Flame" by Paul Dinletir". Yes, a WORDLY, non-JW song. Something I find pretty out of character for them. They usually make use of a remix of one of their official songs.
I'd love to know the chain of command when it comes to approving video releases.
What do you think is going on?

I absolutely love that show!
Waking up and realising that there is no 'Light' (WT Truth, new light etc) was portrayed so well.
Also the automatic shunning and useless ways of trying to re-indoctrinate the strongly doubtful struck cords with me.
Cal is the governing body. He has to make up new crap to keep followers in after the previous leaders DIE and no promises have been fulfilled.
The visiting couple that are opposed to Cal (black woman and Caucasian / mixed husband) remind me so much of circuit overseas and their wives. So damn pious and into everyone's business.
Cults preying on the vulnerable, and persons being captives of concept reinforced by each generation of followers is something we can definitely relate to as well.
I just wish it was a bit more 'family friendly' so I could innocently recommend it to JWs I know.

The Congregational Make Up Research Project: WTB&TS wants to know you.
by oppostate inwe have a bethel speaker on the english side.
they're pretty regular up here since it's only three and a half hours drive from nyc.. but this is a special kind of visit.. it turns out he's involved in doing a special research project and the christian congregation of jw's wants to know us better.. in order for the broadcasting to address issues more meaningful for families, they want to know the demographic make up of the congregations.. he spoke with the secretary about young single publishers and couples 20-35 y.o.
how are they employed.

Why would they need to go out and manually collect that data?
Can't they just pray to Jehovah and let him guide them since it's his 'spirit directed organization'?
Damn dirty rotten cult!!!
