Why, did you want to buy one?
I’m waiting for the Armageddon sale prices, personally.
do you think the watchtower will sell off any more kingdom hall after the 3,000 have been sold of and why do you think that.

https://sputniknews.com/europe/201809211068220658-finland-jehovah-witnesses-army/.
the finnish government has ruled that the current law allowing jehovah's witnesses to avoid military service, in place for several decades, is discriminatory and contradicts the constitution.. .
in the future, finnish jehovah's witnesses* will be obliged to either serve in the nation's military or perform civil service on the same terms as everyone else, the government ruled, submitting a corresponding proposal to parliament, national broadcaster yle reported.. according to the 1987 law, jehovah's witnesses were not only freed from the military draft, they were freed of any obligation to perform community service as a pacifist alternative, a common option among other young people in finland.
Well, if it’s not for religious reasons that they want to avoid the draft, why would it be? Possibly because the young men at Bethel might be taken away from them, and there goes their free labor?
two years ago i started stand up comedy.
here is a recent video.
thx.
You get a G for audience contact and use of notes. We look forward to your next assignment!
my wife and me have a booth at the local framers market.
there is usually about 12 t0 14 vendors each week on a small short street in town.
what is funny on each end of this short street are cart setups with 3 people on each cart.
It looks like the JWs found a new, convenient use for the wheels on their carts. You never know when you’ll need to escape quickly!
i have just heard that the local needs item next week in the uk is to be about a new arrangement for donating online.
details will be in the september announcements letter due out on sept 3rd.
speculate at will!.
That ranks right up there with one of my all-time favorites: a local needs part at the meeting, with loving reminders (addressed to all of the regular attendees) about the importance of attending the meetings.
a circuit overseer or a member of the gibbering body is giving a talk about demonism and he says the following, "there was an elder in a congregation in california who let his 8-year-old daughter watch disney movies that involved witches, gremlins, magic, and sorcery.
many may feel that they are harmless movies and are just entertainment.
well, the 8-year-old daughter actually brought a blue smurf doll to the public talk and watchtower study.
I would have to check with Papa Smurf to see if it really happened. I mean, he’s probably the wisest Smurf, right?
does anyone else recall in the 80s/90s that when the minor/child blood issue was discussed the jw children were taught to say that being forced to have blood would be like rape?
and then had to be able to explain what rape is?
apparently there was a court case were the drs were trying to get a court order to force a blood transfusion on a jw child, and the child said it would be like rape to her and the judge asked her to explain what rape is to see if she understood what she was saying.. that went round my cong at least as a "fine witness " and all the parents were encouraged to have their kids practice the whole "explain rape" thing.. anyone else remember this?.
Yes, I remember. The point they were trying to make is that no one should force you to do something that is against your morals. But in a religion as strict as the JWs at that time, it was too embarrassing to ask someone what rape was. So probably most young people didn’t grasp the comparison / illustration.
how often have we heard some sort of sensationalist urban legend as jws?.
here is an example i was told as a kid:.
the experience of a sister who knocked on a door and was greeted by a big fierce looking man- intimidating and mean.
I heard that there was a question on the Jeopardy game show, with the clue stating that this Bible translation was the most accurate. The JW that I was with stated that the answer was The New World Translation. Another made up story, according to Snopes.
videos from the summer jw conventions ("be courageous) show the "urgency" about the end racheted up several notches.
paranoia rules supreme!.
curiously, though, very few, if any, statements in the convention program about 1914 and the overlapping generations.
It is now fairly common knowledge that the embarrassing parts of their history are being overwritten online. I wonder how much longer it will be for the entire 1914 teaching to be replaced/updated in their online books, magazines and other materials. I wouldn’t be surprised if that is their current direction.
i would like to think there was some good that resulted from our being a witness at one time..
I probably would never have learned the word “ignominiously.“.
