This is one of their teachings that convinced me to realize TTATT. If the light continually gets brighter, then why are there flip-flops in doctrinal teachings? For instance, the superior authorities understanding had changed, then changed again, and then change back, a number of times. If the light continually got brighter, there would be no flip-flops.

ota—the advancement of pidgin english received a boost recently at ota, ogun state at the nigerian pigdin convention series of jehovah’s witnesses which held from december 20 to 23, 2018.. this was the seventeenth in the series of the 2018 “be courageous!” regional convention of jehovah’s witnesses .
recently there are clear indications that jehovah’s witnesses are seriously using pidgin as tool to reach the heart and they have risen beyond the general stereotypical description of it as ‘pidgin english’ or ‘broken english.

Manipulative language
by Hendrixgrip insomeone recently included the phrase from a talk, “cherished errors”, which made me think about something i wanted to get off my chest.
the societies use of manipulative language has been discussed on this site many time and i hope this adds to the ammunition to fight back against them.
periodically , i’ll run into someone and they’ll say “hendrixgrip, why don’t you come to the meetings anymore.” i’ll give them some not too specific reason like, “i’m struggling with the overlapping doctrine”.

I caught some of those cognitive dissonance- inducing manipulations that you highlighted, Blondie, but you found some that I had missed. But I do catch more of these remarks from the Society as I regain the ability to think for myself, instead of turning my thinking ability over to the WTBTS.
It’s funny how the Society states to trust in Jehovah, that he knows what’s best for us, when they lay off Bethelites, for example. Otherwise referred to as “reassignment to the field”. They conveniently use Governing Body and Jehovah almost interchangeably, selecting the appropriate term when they want to reinforce their authority.

Someone in a previous congregation told me that Crystal Blue Persuasion was written about The Truth (That Leads to Eternal Life) book. I never did find out if that reference was true or not.
But back to the topic, if we dared to listen to anything but kingdom melodies, then classical music was always ok. Anything that mentioned evil, devil, demons was obviously bad, but so were things that mentioned God / Jesus, because they all had all stemmed from wrong teachings.

Too Many Categories That Most People Fall Into ... L G B T Q C G D ... I Get Confused
by RubaDub init seems like we are all getting pigeon-holed into a category that may or may not be applicable to us.
personally, i am a "d" but i am sure there are a few (though statistically insignificant) who would otherwise fall into an "o" or other category.. it just seems like society needs to label us in the l g b t q c g d communities.. rub a dub.

Treatment of families
by ZindagiNaMilegiDobaara inhas anyone experienced that family members of the general flock and those of the elders were treated differently, unfairly, or just put on a pedestal just coz they were elders kids?
where i grew up ,elders kids used to steal from their dads wallet right in fron t of us , and say to us that " if you say anything no one will believe you, i am the elders son".this went on from bad to worse , he grew up a constant liar, wore earrings to college and questionable association and clothes, involved in all things worldly.
.i know this coz he had a worldy friend who lived next door to me.this neighbors house was his go to for a double standard life style.

If you want to be bold about it and call him out on it, you can take advantage of the next time that you’re assigned a talk. You can play the marking game, just like the elders do. Call out the type of action in your talk. Make it specific enough so that people get the point. But don’t mention any names. If I were still in, that’s what I would have done.
