  a new study of nearly 6,000 elementary school children has found that boys are discriminated against beginning in kindergarten.

  christopher cornwell, an economics professor at the university of georgia, says that gender disparities in teacher grades start early and uniformly favor girls.. despite having higher scores on standardized tests, boys get lower grades than girls.

  I read this book many years ago when my son was small and not in school yet:

  There was an entire chapter dealing with the fact that school is more geared towards girls. In general, the "sit at a desk, listen to teacher, read a book, take a test" way of learning is not best for boys.

  However, teaching children is not a task that men have traditionally wanted. Teachers are amongst the lowest paid professions. Perhaps there isn't enough money in it for men?

  when police investigated post mortem were not carried out, records just disappeared.

  Well, a great reference is sometimes the fastest way to get rid of someone.

  Very true. I've also seen ones get "promoted" to get them out of a certain department.

  my husband had gotten into a fight with a couple of victims of different pedophiles, he said in all his years of elderhood, "men and women who were sexually assualted came forward when they were old enough, they did not wait for decades to report they were abused.

  you must have some kind of false memory or you are just trying to bring shame to the congregations.

  " what is the truth of this?.

  They may not feel SAFE for many years.

  Quentin (from JW-net) is dying

  quentin robburts has been on jw-net off and on for over 6 years and he is one of my oldest and most loyal friends.. his wife called me awhile ago and gave me the news.. quentin was rushed to the hospital's emergency room with acute renal failure and congestive heart failure.. .

  this does not surprise me for the following reason.

  his pain doctor put him on oxycontin last thursday.

  Difficult Conversations

  morning all.

  if you have read my previous posts you will know of the final stage of my fade is complete, with no longer attending meetings anymore.

  with that in mind, do you have any suggestions to how to handle those conversations raised by familiy and friends about leaving?.

  It's often been said through history: "There are no atheists in foxholes"

  For some, prayer and religious belief helps in hard times - is it nothing more than a placebo? Who can say, but YOU?

  Phizzy gives you great advice and I can't add much to it.

  "Do" and "Believe" whatever works for you and helps you through at the time.

  During the difficulty is not really the time to analyze.

  You can solidify you thoughts and feelings after. There is always time. Religion makes you feel as if you need to decide NOW. You don't.

  There is always time.

  first off, i love frequenting this forum.

  it has given me the opportunity to truly put jw stuff to the test and i thank everyone for their helpful responses.. however, i have noticed a couple things.. 1) the use of the word "troll" is completely childish.
