Some years ago when I still shave a git about being "appointed" a CO took me aside and asked why after nearly twenty years in the same town I wasn't. He told me to ask the eldurrs every few months what I must change to fit their mold. Didn't do a damned bit of good. The eldurrs had a hard-on for me because I won't carry water for them. Next time around he told me I had to much upper lip hair. Wanted it trimmed in a true Hitler style I guess. I didn't! Everyone else had cut theirs off entirely. Bunch of spineless puhzies!

CO overruling elders on appointments
by toto555 inif a brother wants to reach out to be elder, yet brothers are holding him back for dubious reasons, can/should a brother approach the co and ask him what he needs to be done to be appointed or perhaps having a discussion along the lines of why the elders are holding him unfairly back.
anybody have any experiences along these lines?
is this a good strategy?

"How can girls guard against temptation in this sex-crazy world?"
by Apognophos inthis is from the questions from readers in the 12/15/61 watchtower.
i present it unabridged and without comment.
your own comments, however, are welcome.. "when a girl reaches the age of puberty or physical maturity, her body has developed in the matter of sex more than in the mind.

If we humans would take a lesson from these creatures, we would learn something of importance in matters of sex, as to its purpose and the results of its operation.
Well I sure know that there are some pretty fine "sisters" who seem to be less than content. So I would volunteer to help them be contented.

Cost of new Kingdom Halls?
by Blttex ini have been told that the cost to build a new kingdom hall is $500k +.
i have a background in commercial construction and this seems pretty high to me, considering all the free labor.
that is just the cost of the building, excluding the lot price.

I remember helping one hall get its sound equipment, even the cables had to be from the official supplier, they were literally 5x the price.
One I know of recently spent nearly $65,000.00 on a remodel. This for a KH that usually only has 35-40 in attendance, most of whom are very elderly, infirm, or in some other way living on the public dole. But the BOE can brag about how "beautiful" their KH is from one side of their mouth while begging for increased money contributions from the other. Disgraceful!

Just heard of a KH that has finally rammed through approval to build an added on mirror copy. I have heard the locals talking about how it is going to cost $750,000.00 just for the fire suppression sprinkler system. Then the cost of the building will be on top of that. Of course you could make book on the fact that it will not be a modest building, or modestly furnished....gotta keep ahead of the joneses...so to speak. Oh well the poor welfare R&F can eat a little less I am sure.

Disciplinary Actions
by Cold Steel induring a disciplinary procedure, what would the response be if you wanted representation?
an advocate?.
why don't they have a group of unbiased men, a prosecutor to present the case against you and an advocate that would represent the accused?

I my case many years ago it was the complaint of the vindictive daughter of a so-called jw woman I knew. While she had no clue, the accusation was just what the chief hounder and his cohorts needed to latch on to the reason to df me. Her accusation was a blatant lie, but the hounder's believed that her mother and I had "fornicated". One of the secondary hounder's punk-ass son came forward as the second "witness" saying that he had seen me without a shirt on when in the presence of the woman! Of course the two hounder's were pissed off that I had called out their idiot, drunken, drug addled MS sons.
I refused to admit to sins I had not committed. I could not feel "remorse" for something that had not happened. So on the grounds of "unrepentance" I was booted in short order. Later for the sake of my immediate family I attempted reinstatement. They claimed that as long as I didn't copy their clothing styles I was trying to be independent, and refused to RI me. Eventually I managed to get back "in", and as I said in an earlier post I take pleasure in occupying a chair in the KH and being a thorn in their sides merely by being there.

Does that mean no weather.com, no Amazon, no on-line banking???
Yes.
After all the weather is in the vicinity of the earth. So that EVIDENTLY would mean that the weather or any interest in it would be delving into the deep things of Satan. And of course Amazon is a web site designed to separate one from their hard earned dollars by spending it. That would REASONABLY mean that one is selfish. Why spend resources on oneself that could be sent to the WTB&T$? And of course banks and their web sites are part of Satan's wicked economic faction of the world. So one would want to stay as far away from banks as possible lest one be sucked into the world.
By following the GB directions against weather, Amazon, and banks we can rest assured you will have their warmest blessings.

by sherrie11 init doesn't allow anyone to register.

There is a "special" code given to the hounder's and wannabe hounder's so they can get letters from "mother" and other information that the R&F jw is not supposed to be privy to. (hahahaha get the double meaning on words?...privy...) That said, there is no use registering for any account, there is no way one can contact the clowns in suits via email. At least in many attempts I have made all I get is my default email to open with no possible way to find out or enter an email address for them. Totally useless, and as stated already, communication with them is ONE WAY only.

Instructions To Elders Re: Pursuing Higher Education

as you are aware, the educational system varies from country to country.

They feel it opens up a whole can of worms, resentment, judging, favoritism etc.
That is just SOP for the hounders. If they couldn't use their position to foment resentment, judge, or show favoritism they would not want to be eldurrs at all.

Sighhhhhhhh, the Draw Close to Jehovah book again for the Congregation Bible Study.
by Stand for Pure Worship incheck out this gem from the dec 2013 km which explains why it's good to over this book a second go round.. "congregations previously considered this book during 2004 and 2005. however, for many of the approximately two million publishers who have come into the truth since then, this will be the first time that jehovahs endearing qualities have been discussed in detail.for those who studied the book before, the review will help them to deepen their appreciation forjehovahs attributes.ps.119:14".
i gotta kick out of this because i can only think of maybe two or three new ones in our congregation who weren't present when this book was first studied.
at the same time, going over jehovah's qualities isn't something new.

thats also where they get all the attendance numbers for the memorial count the kids.
So very true! Back in the days before I became a piztjw I was "privileged" to count the attendees at the meetings. I counted those who appeared to be listening. Not those who were sound asleep, not the two day old newborns, and not the pre-school brats who were busily coloring their Jack and the beanstalk coloring books. I was royally chewed out for that and told that EVERY body was to be counted! When I asked how someone asleep, a baby, or kids coloring could be considered as actually ATTENDING to the meeting I was told my efforts were no longer needed as I was being argumentative against the BOE. What a bunch of crap!

*** g 6/08 p. 11 When Is Self-Defense Justified? ***
When You Are Threatened
Pursuing peace does not guarantee that you will never face violent attack. Faithful worshippers of God throughout history have been victims of violent crime. (Genesis 4:8; Job 1:14, 15, 17) If a person is confronted by an armed robber, what should he do? Jesus instructed: “Do not resist him that is wicked.” (Matthew 5:39) He also said: “From him that takes away your outer garment, do not withhold even the undergarment.” (Luke 6:29) Jesus did not condone use of physical weapons to defend material possessions. If confronted by an armed robber, a wise person will not resist giving up his valuables. Surely, life is far more precious than belongings!
On the other hand, what if a person’s life is threatened by an assailant? A law that God gave to ancient Israel sheds light on this. If a thief was caught in the daytime and was killed, the assailant would be charged with murder. This was evidently because thievery did not carry the death penalty and the thief could have been identified and brought to justice. However, if an intruder was fatally struck at night, the householder could be exonerated because it would be difficult for him to see what the intruder was doing and to ascertain the intentions of the intruder. The householder could reasonably conclude that his family was under threat of harm and take defensive action.—Exodus 22:2, 3.
The Bible thus indicates that a person may defend himself or his family if physically assaulted. He may ward off blows, restrain the attacker, or even strike a blow to stun or incapacitate him. The intention would be to neutralize the aggression or stop the attack. This being the case, if the aggressor was seriously harmed or killed in such a situation, his death would be accidental and not deliberate.
The Best Protection
Clearly, there are circumstances under which reasonable self-defense is justified. People have a right to protect themselves and their loved ones from aggression and deadly harm. When escape is not possible, there is no Biblical injunction against reasonably defending ourselves. Still, the course of wisdom would be to do our best to avoid situations with a potential for violence.—Proverbs 16:32.
I have a good selection of both hunting weapons and handguns. The handguns are legally carried, and loaded with PDA. I refuse to be a victim at the whim of imperfect humans who likely never have to face anything more dangeroous than a free airplane flight to thier next paid vacation...err convention speaking assignment.
