Bullet list of major (recent) changes
by RN init is with great interest that i recently read ceders article on the decline of the wts.
his article along with many of the comments really drives home just how many major changes there have been in a fairly short peroid of time.. somewhere in the recent past i could swear that someone had posted a bullet list of major changes with the corresponding year.
when i saw this (or something like it) my first thought was that this simple list made it all the more shocking; and since i have searched and cannot find anything like it.. so i dug around and started one of my own, please feel free to add/corrects events.

The problem with women in authority is: Wasn't the only person in congress who voted against entering WWII a woman?
Jeannette Pickering Rankin - A lifelong pacifist, she was one of fifty members of Congress who voted against entry into World War I in 1917, and the only member of Congress who voted against declaring war on Japan after the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941 ""As a woman I can't go to war," she said, "and I refuse to send anyone else."
Women ain't got the balls to do what it takes.

The problem with that 1954 W quote is that they drew conclusions from Paul's words.
Paul wrote in the context to which he intended. He was not writing in a manner to answer our questions.
And then there is the assumption that Paul actually knew what he was writing about. Just because Paul saw Jesus in a vision and angels acted upon him does not mean that everything that he thought and wrote was correct.
And the problem with associating the breaking of bread to the not breaking of his bones, is irrelevant. Breaking of bread was to give it to each person.
And back in the days of the 1954W, they assumed things because it was taught prior; and those things were taught prior, not because it was true, but because it seperated them from other religions.
Their changing and adopting a new understanding is not bad thing. It is like the supreme court looks at a law and facts in one point of view, then a later supreme court reverses that because it looks at it in a broader sense. Both are right, but the later is more right because it has more information.

Active JW's, can you defend "THE TRUTH?"
by DATA-DOG inas of yet, no member of the jehovah's witness faith can defend their unique beliefs.
when the dust settles, it all comes down to blind faith in men's ever-changing ideas.
this "unique belief" was not a "true teaching of the bible.

I am a fader because I don't see why I would want to defend anything.

There was 100 years of year text including 1914 and it repeated in 2013.
1914 was Be courageous and strong" (Joshua 1:9)
Which is what 2013 was.
But it is not what 2014 is.
They got the idea right but the facts wrong.

In years past, pioneers would get discounts. In order to enforce who is pioneers and whether they do what they are supposed to to earn that discount, they required field service reports.

A priest is someone acting between two parties. A mediator, an agent, etc.
But in the Bible there was a specific role called priest. They were only men.
In the Catholic church... who cares about what the Cathoic church does?

Jehovahs witnesses dont have the name of GOD right so how can they be his witnesses
by smiddy inthe tetragrammaton ,does not appear anywhere in the christian greek scriptures see the new world kingdom interlinear translation.
the tetragrammaton translated in english is yhwh ( not jhvh) their is no j in hebrew.. the first edition of the book " aid to bible understanding" admits that the proper pronunciation of gods name is not known.. that they have used the name jehovah because it is the more popular name used in christendoms religions.
and they say christendoms religions are apostates / anti christs /babylon the great , can they have it both ways ?.

Did you actually think of that argument yourself or did you copy someone else?
That has got to be the most trolled argument for trolls.
Who really cares about what God's name is and who is using it. There are more important things to worry about.
If it were important, it would have been preserved. But if it is not important than the arguments that JWs have made could not have been made. It is possible that he left it unpreserved as a test for his people interested in the name to find and use.
Leave it as something that we will never know the truth about until God reveals it.
And as stated above, no one uses Jesus' given name, so why is it that everyone complains about the use of God's name?
Be consistant in your complaints.

Bizarre comment about jw.org at SAD
by sir82 inrecently attended a sad.. bethel speaker was gushing about the wt's embrace of new technology, in the part of his talk warning about "apostate" web sites.. a loose summary of his comments:.
"and the brothers at headquarters have made it very safe for you to go to our website.
in fact, the brothers talked to the folks at google, and they made a special arrangement so that when you type in 'j w period' into the google search engine, it automatically shows you the jw.org website.

when in google.com, I type jw.
It brings up the listing and sub listing for jw.org
:-(
Isn't it worrysome that one needs a loving provision for safety?
As for it being a special arrangement with Google, that is a lie.
type mw. and it brings up merriam webster the same way.
That would apply to any 2 letter domains, or any domains that are known by the letters typed in then a dot.

"How can you commit to a long term sexual relationship without finding out if you are sexually compatible?"
If one applies the Bible principle of love, then compatiblity is irrelvant. In theory.
Everything they teach is theoretical.
