Giving for disaster relief is good. But just for the operation of a religion is bad. I would rather people donate to an animal shelter than a religion.

WTBTS: Do Not Mark Donations For Relief Efforts - Mark World Wide Work
by Honesty ini have just talked with the wtbts service department at 718-560-5000.. you can contribute for hurricane katrina relief efforts through your local kingdom hall and put your donation in the contribution box marked for the world wide work.
you may also send donations directly to the branch office... to the brooklyn address.
donations should be marked for the world wide work and not specificically reserved for relief efforts.

How will BREXIT affect Watchtower's interpretation of Daniel's prophecies?
by truthseeker innow that the uk has voted to leave the eu i wonder how this will impact watchtower's thinking about the end times prophecies in daniel and revelation?.
will trump win the presidency, and if so, will he and whoever is in charge of the uk form a new anglo-american power?
what about the ten kings ruling in the time of the end?.

Oh, please.
The EU is nothing. They don't even all share the same currency.
The USA needs to take over it all.

what's the go, surely she is not a declared jw?.
she needs some serious council from jehovah, and i'm guessing bro sammy herd wouldn't mind being on that little committee.. the song is called "sorry".

Islam is a religion of peace (2)
by Coded Logic inin behalf of the horrific events of saturday night, i just wanted to take a moment to remind everyone that islam is a religion of peace.
it doesn’t matter that the quran explicitly says that homosexuals should be stoned to death (7:84) - it’s still a religion of peace.
and it doesn’t matter that the scriptures say that all gay men should be killed (sunan 1:152) - islam doesn’t in anyway condone violence.. it doesn’t matter that every mainstream imam calls homosexuality a sin "worse the adultery" - it’s not a religion of bigotry.. it doesn’t matter that 61% of muslims in the uk think gay acts should be made illegal - islam has nothing against the gay community.. it doesn’t matter that countries with sharia law actively persecute the lgbt community - islam is all about peace and love.

Peace or not, like all religions, it is a waste of time and has not produced any results. People still die as that religion has not stopped it. It has not brought back the dead or fixed anything. No better than Christianity.

Why are some that post here JW apologists?
by ctrwtf inmy rant tonight is against the quasi religious apologists that post on this board.
those who at once rail against the jw's then later talk about how "orderly" and "neat" the witnesses are at their conventions.
those who site the benefits of bloodless surgery to some who have the luxury and time to actually make an educated choice, while ignoring the tens of thousands who've died because they happen to be in an accident or succumb to a disease for which there is no other treatment.. i understand the power of cognitive dissonance.

There are things JWs have gotten right such as no trinity, no hellfire, not going to heaven after death, chronology from what the Bible gives (not that it is right but it is right from what little the Bible gives).

NAILING DOWN the fraud of John 1:1 by demonstration
by TerryWalstrom incall me crazy, but i love to watch seminary classes when sharp teachers are in charge of the instruction.. in the following video, the teacher really nails jehovah's witnesses on john 1:1 with utter simplicity.. begin at 1 hour and 20 minutes in.. i've never seen or heard of this before.. .

IF it is that complicated to where he needs 1 hour 40 minutes and a white board all marked up and tracing history, then it is all BS.
OH, JWs are right about John 1:1.

Will Bro. Rogers be DF'd posthumously for drug addiction?
by ShirleyW insome have been df'd for suspicion of smoking cigarettes, yet bro.
rogers death is because of an addiction, fentanyl is what they are saying is the drug that did him in which was reported on the news as being more potent than heroine.
why is it that some nosy sister can report you because someone who looked like you was in the parking lot the same time as she was, yet bro.

Drug addiction is not a DFing offense since they are medical.

Challenge to Creationists
by cofty inin response to the 37 threads in my evolution is a fact series - see bottom of op for links - perry posted a link to an article "44 reasons why evolution isn't true".. i offered him a challenge on the thread and by pm.
predictably he is totally ignoring it, so i am offering the challenge to any evolution-denier who thinks they have evidence to support their position.. please present one specific piece of evidence for creationism.. my task will be to refute it with evidence within 24 hours.. then i will present one piece of evidence for evolution and your challenge will be the same.. all posts must be as succinct as reasonably possible.
entirely in your own words, without copy-paste, videos or links.. please post your interest to take part and we will set it up before the first actual post in the exchange.

The fact that some animals have pointed teeth and others don't indicates creation. The need to eat meat does not evolve flat teeth to pointed. Needs and desired can't change DNA. They were created with pointed teeth to eat meet. Changes can only come from mutations.

Help needed: transgender people and other unclear topics
by TeaBiscuit infirst of all, i am not quite sure whether this is the right place to ask my questions.
if this is not really appropriate, please tell me in advance, but i really did not know who to turn to, so i thought why not ask the internet... now, i know many of you are apostates and i'm not really looking for "leave it all behind you" answers, but really for experiences, thoughts and ideas... as well as maybe some verses if you can think of any.. anyway, first things first.
since this is very anonymous and i'd like to keep it that way, i will not give you my name, but still, i think some background info might be helpful.

There is no such thing as transgender. The proper term for someone who changes gender is metagender. The proper term for someone that dresses like the other is trans or meta vestite.
