Since the end of WWII it has been Russia- USSR. But in 1993 they were unsure if it could be Russia anymore in the Daniel book. but I've always felt that it was still Russia. If now they are saying it is Russia, nothing changed. It has always been Russia and never China as KoN and US as the KoS.

How many here think Trump's news conference this evening was absolutely brilliant
by ShirleyW ini'm being serious, i would like to hear from folks here that support him describe to me how that news conference was absolute brilliance, he answered all the questions, he knows what he is talking about.
just want to compare note with those who aren't his supporters (and have common sense) as you know this forum is here to hear both sides, so, have at it .

I'm referring to the right for interracial marriages, the right to choose not to stand for the Pledge, the right to choose your own birth control, the right for consenting adults to do what they want in their own privacy, and even, sigh, the right for gays to marry. Were any of those entitlements? Or things for which the government should stay out of people's lives?Normally I'm against conservative justices as liberal ones give us more rights.
I think you are confusing “rights” and “entitlements”.

"Has anyone told you that this isn't a biblical trial? It's not even a religious one."God gave standards of evidence for a reason. Because people are not truthful and false conclusion can be drawn. That is an example that should be followed.

In the past I thought Trump was crazy. He's got his mind set on thing but the wrong things.
Normally I'm against conservative justices as liberal ones give us more rights.
I was against Kavanaugh's confirmation initially. But when these accusations came out and all the metoo and the jumping to conclusions and name calling, I'm now supporting him. I feel sorry for him.
Why weren't these brought out when he was appointed a judge and to the COA?
This is a violation of the 9th commandment. Coming out 36 years later is bearing false witness, because it is no longer the same person.
And this is why there is a two witness rule. But the witnesses have to be credible. None of these are.
I'll be watching the hearings tomorrow.

Anyone know the significance of the three days and nights Jesus is dead?
by Crazyguy inin my studies i’ve come to realize that most dying and rising gods such as inanna, jesus and others all were dead three days and nights.
the moon is dead as far as man not being able to see it in the sky three days and nights but many of these gods are not associated with the moon, osiris maybe being the only exception.
have any of you in your research come up with a plausible idea on why there all dead just threes days and three nights?.

IT was not 3.5 days. It was from Friday evening Nisan 14 to Sunday morning Nisan 16.
Because he died on Passover and was raised on Nisan 16 which was the festival of unfermented cakes.

Simple introduction to the theory of evolution
by Diogenesister inhi new folks, lurkers and trolls.
i thought i would post this simple but interesting video which shows how scientists bring multiple lines of evidence together to prove evolution is true; for example:.
comparative anatomy.

None of that disproves creation.
And evolution has never dealt with the sexes. If animals were unisex, then how could some cells decide that it would be better to form a penis? For what purpose? Because in other animals cells were mutating to form vaginas and they would work together. But those cells can't communicate so how could they work that all out?
How could mammary glands develop? Did cells have their DNA mutate to form them because it was good for the newborn young to have a way to eat before they had teeth? But those cells couldn't comprehend that.

I don't believe that Romans 13 and superior Authorities is a flip flop. In Russell's day, they felt like all the other churches on the subject. They weren't applying neutrality and the governments were above God. They were at one extreme. Then in Rutherford's day at World War I, he said they were Jehovah God and Jesus Christ to go to the other extreme to cause people to avoid any association with the government. Then Knorr brought it to the middle by eliminating both extremes. It's the governments, but they don't rule you above God.

Bro. Geoff in September 2018 Broadcast vs Serena Williams
by NeedToKnow inthe september broadcast opens up with a story of 80 yr old brother geoff who gave up been in a band all them years ago.
fast forward to 2018 and we have a world renown tennis player and jw as far as we’re told.. so where some are encouraged to leave the world and it’s futile pursuits of fame and fortune, others are not.
or even punished for their behaviour on court or for been photographed with their country’s flag where others have been executed for refusing to salute flags.

FedUpJW:
Are you saying that forcing someone to salute the flag is respecting the flag yourself/themselves? That is what brought about the Minersville vs West Virginia case where the Supreme Court struck down laws requiring any flag salute. Forced allegiance is what Hitler did and is no allegiance at all. JWs respect the flag more than others by following what it stands for, freedom.
As far as breaking fingers and shoving things, they tried that with Billy Jack too.

Concerning the broadcast with brother Goff. He said the mob wanted him to salute the flag.
I would have saluted... with my middle finger.
God bless America.

TOWN OF NEWBURGH — The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York is challenging nearly $200,000 in fire and other special district taxes assessed for three Town of Newburgh properties, including two hotels the organization bought to house volunteers helping build its world headquarters in Warwick.
In a petition filed in Orange County Court last month, the umbrella organization for Jehovah’s Witnesses claimed that the town “either unintentionally as a mistake or intentionally and without lawful authority” miscoded the former Hilton on Crossroads Court and the former Hampton Inn on Route 300 for 2016, 2017 and this year.
With a combined market value of nearly $23 million, the hotel properties were not assessed town, county and school taxes for those years. But the town assessed $196,000 charges for the Orange Lake Fire District and lighting and water districts during those years.
Newburgh also assessed $1,600 in special district taxes over three years for a vacant commercial property Watchtower owns at Route 17K and Route 300.
“Petitioner would not be required to pay the resulting unjust charges if its exemption from taxes had been justly, correctly, and lawfully granted and administered,” Watchtower’s attorneys wrote in the organization’s petition in county court.
Watchtower bought the two hotel properties in 2014 as it built its 1.6 million-square-foot headquarters on Kings Drive in Warwick. Market value for the Route 300 hotel property is $7,378,500 and for the Crossroads Court hotel $15,435,300, according to county property records.
The organization applied for exemption under a section of state real property tax law covering property used “exclusively for religious, charitable, hospital, educational, or moral or mental improvement of men, women or children purposes.”
Instead, the town gave the organization an exemption under a different section of state law covering property owned by a religious organization but used for residential purposes. That exemption still required the payment of special district taxes.
Watchtower applied in January for refunds of special district payments made on the three properties in 2016 and 2017.
Its application was denied in a March letter from John McCarey, the county’s director of Real Property Tax Service. McCarey said that Watchtower’s initial exemption application in 2015 was approved for all but special district taxes and that the organization failed to challenge that determination at the time.
“I believe that all religions improve the quality of life in the area,” Newburgh Supervisor Gil Piaquadio said. “However, in my opinion, not contributing towards volunteer fire districts who would be called upon to fight a fire in these multi-story hotels is unfair to the fire districts and taxpayers.”
Although Watchtower’s headquarters in Warwick is complete, the two hotel properties are still being used, the organization said in its court filing.
Volunteers “supporting” the headquarters and Watchtower facilities in the towns of Fishkill, Patterson and Shawangunk used the Hampton, according to court documents. The former Hilton houses volunteers visiting the area for retreats, according to Watchtower.
