  Obviously it was his Father, Jehovah God who raised up Jesus from the dead. Acts 2:31 says it "It was this very Jesus whom God raised—and we're all witnesses of that.

  Jesus could not rise from the dead since he was dead. John 2:19 is symbolic. Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days."
  It means that when his body (the temple) was broke, which would make the temple broken and obsolete, a new temple will be made in he heavens by Jesus' fulfilling his role as high priest. Jesus' saying that "I will raise it did not mean that he will raise himself or his body. He would have been more accurate to have said 'My father', but nobody's perfect.

  The new service meeting

  i wanted to relate an experience that happened this morning.

  it is regarding the new format for the meeting on thursdays in my area.

  its not word for word but im summarizing what i heard, the best i can remember.

  That is so true. That is what happened to me.

  Back in 2006 a Circuit overseer said in a talk "The devil keeps me so busy, the system keeps
  us so busy. One brother said 'You think the governing body will have us have fewer
  meetings?' I said 'What?!!' He said 'They are in Bethel and we are in the real world. The
  economy is terrible and gas prices. You ever think we will have fewer meetings because we
  are working so hard?' I said 'Are you serious? Are you kidding me? The deeper we are in
  the end, the more meetings we have to have. Because you said that I will write the governing
  body had hope we double our meetings. I need more meetings."

  it's up to some 800 zillion dollars now and hasn't suckered me in yet.

  i've been out of watchtower for some 38 years now and i suppose the lottery is one of their nonoze.

  i have nothing morally wrong against it or anyone who enjoys doing it.

  in 1961 my father was disfellowshipped for not doing to the kingdom hall he was assigned to.. if i'm lying...my dying!.

  What Was The Silliest "Offense" That You Were Counseled For?

  when i was a teenager, i was told by an elder that because i smiled a lot and was known for my good sense of humor, that i should come across as "more serious".

  so before i was appointed a ms, while in my late teens, i transformed myself into a much more "serious" brother.. were you ever told that you needed to work on something that you knew was stoopid?.

  I was not a servant but I was taking the count of attendance. I walked up the aisles more than half way to count then I was later told that I should just stay in back and count as it is a distraction.

  Another time at an assembly I was sitting in a row by myself with just a couple of people at the other end. Then I moved up to the next row to free it up if others needed it. There was a girl about 15 sitting half way in the row. Afterward the mother told me that the girl was just 15 and was not available. I tried to tell her that I was not interested in the girl, but I just moved to make the whole row available.

  we found some people who were happy to welcome us into their homes, even offering us food and drink.. sometimes, they would flag us down and ask for the magazines, walk miles to the kh meetings, come to our defense if someone got ugly or rude.. now, jw's are either routinely ignored or outright vilified.. no one respects them anymore.. sad.. .

  The same that people sit there for Yankees home games in July. Back in the 1950s people wore suits to baseball games.

  Why do girls have a hymen?

  if you believe humans evolved, and were not created, why would having a hymen help, especially as no other mammal has one?

  if you believe humans were created by {a} god, or intelligent beings with advanced technology, what was the reason for a hymen?

  i'm interested to hear your thoughts on this unusual subject, not many people talk about..

  Cocker spaniels to terriers to collies are evolution, but pit bulls to lions are not and beagles to humans is not. That's an impossibility. That evolution is not a fact. I don't even see how environmental evolution could happen. I don't see how being in the sun which would darken one's skin cause dna to change to adapt for that. A person might adapt but that would not change one's DNA.

  I believe in creation, but that the creator neglected everything after that.

  I don't see how evolution could account for different sexes. To mix up the genetics? why a monthly cycle? Why stimulate the nerves ? why make it pleasurable? How would mammary gland evolve? Where would that idea originate.

  i think the january study watchtower is a concerted attempt to reduce the numbers claiming to be anointed.

  but i love the sneaky way they go about it this time.

  What? Brooklyn should give the WTBS a thank you for making that part of the city beautiful and clean. And many tourists and visitors came to visit there. Governments should earn their money and not tax buildings that they didn't build.
