Why Jehovah's Witnesses are WRONG about Christmas
by David_Jay inas you know (and are probably tired of hearing me repeat), i’m jewish.
yes, i was a jehovah’s witness when i was a teenager and into my 20s, but returned to my roots and now celebrate chanukah when the holiday season comes around each year.. so why am i writing about christmas?
well, that’s because i thought i would share something about how jehovah’s witnesses teach against christmas.

as bill cetnar once said, there are two reasons for everything: the reason they tell you, and the real reason.
they will tell you it's because christmas is "pagan" and can lead to all sorts of licentious conduct (like drinking too much macallan scotch?)..

But that is not what Christmas is about. Christmas is not about the celebration of the anniversary of Christ's birth. Yes the actual event was celebrated. But what happens on Dec 25 is not like that.
But my issue is that it has happened for centuries where Jehovah does not care anymore. He does not get offended. And does he look for the bad in everything but not also look for the good in it?

No. It is because they are pharisees and try to be above and more holy than everyone else so they can be comfortable that they did what they could to please Jehovah.

How about simple Apathy.
It feels like they are pushing us to get through the Great Tribulation and Armageddon to where we just don't want to even live there. What's the point when we just don't care anymore?

"Mediator - only for the 144,000?"
Why does this keep coming up? Why does nobody (but me) understand what that means? It's not that difficult. But people just want and got to have Jesus as their mediator just as they want to and got to go to heaven. It is all about their wants.

enoughisenough. - What does any of that have to do with being inspired by God. God never told anyone to do any of that in the Bible or anywhere else.

Yes, the governing body is inspired. Inspired is not limited to getting visions or words directly from God.
Inspired means where did the idea come from.
They were inspired by God because they got their ideas from the Bible.

No, in front of the throne is not in heaven because it says there were palm branches in their hands. There are no palm branches in heaven. I've not seen any there.
"Revelation 14:4 144,000 are Male Jews..all virgins"
No, it does not say they are Jews. They are from the 12 tribes. Judah is only one tribe, which as that time means nothing because in 96 CE, Israel meant nothing.
It is symbolic also virginity was symbolic. It does not say they are males. It says they did not defile themselves with women; in fact, they are virgins. How do you get male out of that?

Because you can't come to Jehovah without coming to Jesus first. Doesn't everyone know how that works?
