"Regardless, the fact that the WT decided to leave it in and not edit it out seems to be a message"
Or when this was scheduled, he was still in and no one bothered to view the video to make sure of what is in it.
this has been announced on the jw's official website, in the "jw news" section.
this is not a joke.

There was a video shown in the midweek meeting this week and it looks like it was from around the time of the 2014 convention. It showed Anthony Morris and his wife in the door to door work.
i have never understood the watchtower's explanation of the rich man and lazarus story jesus told in luke 16. of course, they don't believe jesus is talking about what happens in an "afterlife" after people die.. but from the watchtower's point of view:.
1. who are the five brothers?.
2. why can't lazarus go witness to them?
The problem with the Rich Man and Lazarus is that it may have been understood by the people of that day, but not of today.
It can not be talking about an afterlife, blessings vs punishment as the common thought is that those who believe in Jesus go to heaven and those that don't go to hell. But the parable said nothing about that.
And when did people actually start going to a hellfire? If they go because they don't believe in Jesus, then no one went to hellfire before Jesus started preaching. If it started happening around then, there were never any warnings or explanation as the ideas pulled from the New Testament are pure crap.
It is reasonable that a fair warning should be given to the world, in language that the common world will understand, of what the law intends to do if a certain line is passed. To make the warning fair, so far as possible, the line should be clear. No such clear line existed for hellfire.
for a christian, only the moral commandments of the old testament are binding (as they cannot change), but the various liturgical, social, and other so-called casuistic laws no longer apply to them.
this includes dietary habits, such as the prohibition of pork or fat, as well as the prohibition of blood.. take a look at the following verses: mt 15:11, mk 7:15-19, acts 11:7-9, 1 tim 4:3-5.. the jehovah's witnesses say that, yes, but in the acts of the apostles (15) the consumption of blood, idol meat, and strangled animals is also prohibited, meaning the new testament still forbids it.
for catholics, the council of florence settled this issue, stating that this apostolic regulation was only a temporary measure to facilitate agreement between jews and gentiles in the early church.
"For a Christian, only the moral commandments of the Old Testament are binding"
No they are not. None of the 10 commandment are binding.
"The prohibition found in Acts 15:20,29 may seem to be a reinforcement of the old law at first glance."
No, it was not. Act 15 was about the apostles peeling away the Law and seeing what remains.
as you know (and are probably tired of hearing me repeat), i’m jewish.
yes, i was a jehovah’s witness when i was a teenager and into my 20s, but returned to my roots and now celebrate chanukah when the holiday season comes around each year.. so why am i writing about christmas?
well, that’s because i thought i would share something about how jehovah’s witnesses teach against christmas.
Why are you promoting Christmas?
It may be fun, but as free folk, we don't follow that.
so, jw's don't celebrate christmas or other holidays.
as bill cetnar once said, there are two reasons for everything: the reason they tell you, and the real reason.
they will tell you it's because christmas is "pagan" and can lead to all sorts of licentious conduct (like drinking too much macallan scotch?)..
"The Bible does not prohibit the celebration of Christ's birthday anywhere; on the contrary, it claims that when it happened, both humans and angels celebrated"
But that is not what Christmas is about. Christmas is not about the celebration of the anniversary of Christ's birth. Yes the actual event was celebrated. But what happens on Dec 25 is not like that.
But my issue is that it has happened for centuries where Jehovah does not care anymore. He does not get offended. And does he look for the bad in everything but not also look for the good in it?

No. It is because they are pharisees and try to be above and more holy than everyone else so they can be comfortable that they did what they could to please Jehovah.
i've never been a witness so i never left.

for some years i’d had a growing irritation and disillusionment with the religion: i was getting tired of the pompousness, the arrogance and the control, i felt increasingly choked by their restrictions and i was drained by their demands on my time.
How about simple Apathy.
It feels like they are pushing us to get through the Great Tribulation and Armageddon to where we just don't want to even live there. What's the point when we just don't care anymore?
i just had to pass this on to you.. it is an e mail that is making the rounds.. what do you think of this.... (beware!
gagging may be expected).
the 41,000 friends at the international convention in michigan .
Yeah? So? What's the point?
here’s a couple good ones: a. jesus said, “come to me and i will give you rest”.. why did jesus command us to go to him and not jehovah?.
why does the bible say that the name of jesus is above every name?
.
"Mediator - only for the 144,000?"
Why does this keep coming up? Why does nobody (but me) understand what that means? It's not that difficult. But people just want and got to have Jesus as their mediator just as they want to and got to go to heaven. It is all about their wants.
